Question snow plow pump

i read a thread on this and still a lil confused

i no some pumps run off motor and some run off 12v sorce

im looking to jiuce a blazer but was wondering if useing this pump is fine
i dont want to hope or any of that shit i just want to lay it out at lights, shows and for the girls of course lol

i mean i understand it will be slow but will it works with different dumps and ext

i was told it does but the guy that told me....wel his shit a cobbled togeather and i dont trust was he says

the reason i ask is
with the pump being engine driven or electric
to me it would take less space (batterys and such) and look a lil cleaner
im on a budget so
all your information would help
thanx everyone

Re: snow plow pump

I think snow plow pumps produce less pressure than the hydraulic pumps used on mini trucks. I'll do some research and find out for sure.

Re: snow plow pump

It is possible.. you just have to plumb it correctly for it all to work..which can be a lil difficult if you dont know what you are looking at..

Re: snow plow pump

yea, from what i've read its not too bad.

but i would assume the two hoses oon the metal plate with the caps on a strap would be where you would hook your cylinders up to. then the single hose some how would control the up / down of the rams.?

cylinders, is that what you call them? or rams? haha. but ya know what i mean.

you'd have to t off them for front/back thou.

Re: snow plow pump

imo its not worth it.........you can find a nice set of used pumps for $200-$300 all day long.by the time you buy fittings/adapters,hoses etc plus your time its not worth it and it wont be as nice as some real pumps..........plus if its slow as fvck theres nothing you can do about it where as with some pumps you can just add another battery

Re: snow plow pump

Ill try to draw you a plumbing scematic tomorow.

You can use It to lift the whole truck up and down using the main lift spool. and also you can tee it off to use the other spool for front to back

Re: snow plow pump

Sorry i did not get that print made up yet , ive been real busy. If you have a way to bolt up a plow pump to your truck. thats cool. If it were me, I would use electric valves,, but you want to use what you have. If you use spool valves , it's fine but you probably wont like having to run levers insted of switches. But you can. you can also tap into a power steering pump and use that as your pump. You use a priority valve, set it up as steering priority and hydro suspention as a second, My self I would either use a forklift lift pump for the flow, or just put in a 2 pump electric setup , with 3 batterys charging off the engine. I'm not trying to complicate anything , you only have a low volume pump. Your going to hate the thing. I promise.
