removing front cylinders

OK I need to put new upper control arms on my truck. I noticed my cylinders are in the way of removing the cross shaft on my control arms. So how do I properly remove my front cylinders? I have coil under in the front. Will the spring shoot off when I remove the cylinder? Any help is appreciated.

Re: removing front cylinders

the spring shouldnt shoot out unless the cylinder is putting pressure on the coil
