Pump problem. help!

Ok so here’s my problem. On my way back from Nashville a couple weeks ago I noticed that my truck had very little power to lift the front of my truck. I actually had to open the door and push up with my shoulder so I could help it lift up. I figured it was my batteries and they were just low so I charged them. About a week or so ago I noticed the same problem I had before. I figured it was the solenoids because they are more than a year old ant had a bit of rust on them. I swapped all 6 and put everything back together the way it was. Now when I tap the switch I get a click instead of a lift on the front and rear pumps. When I hold the switch the pump turns slow and then raises the truck slowly. I think my check valves are fine caus the truck hasn’t gone any lower since I have been driving it. My fluid is topped off also. Any ideas of what the problem is and a solution?

ok here try this. check every battery for charge seperatly. at full charge they should be around13.45 volts. an if that is not it try your ground. clean it or replace the ground.

Re: Pump problem. help!

should i sand the paint off under the selonids so its grounded better to the bed or do i need to run an actual cable from somewhere to the bed so its a real good ground?

how do i check the brushes on the motors? what am i looking for?

yes it should be bare metal under your selonoids. if not you will not get a good ground. i really dont think it will be your motors. but you can check if ya want to be safe.

Re: Pump problem. help!

is it safe to pull off the end cap on my motor and look when there is preasure in the lines? i have never taken it off before. i dont wana drop my truck because its my daily driver. i pulled all my batteries and cleaned up everything. my battery rack is my ground, its welded to te bed. should i run a bolt into my bed or is this ok? in the morning ill take the paint off from under the seloonids for a better ground. i broke a battery post off under the cover so ill be gettin a new battery to. is there a big differance between the red top and yellow top besides price?

Re: Pump problem. help!

you can take your motors off with no prob an will not effect the ride height at all. i think the only differance between the red an yellow top are the cold cranking an reserve amps.
