how does this kit look? what else would i need to get this going on my truck? i'll prob monoleaf it out back for a little bit, then eventually upgrade to a 3 link. i'm looking for something reliable, i drive it to work most days in the summer |

Re: opinions on a hydro kit
Thats a good start. You will still need power wire for the pumps and battery's of course the battery's. you will also need springs and if its going to be your daily i would suggest either running accumulators or keeping the shocks for ride quality. Also you should look into a street charge so you don't have to worry about charging the battery's. there are alot of other things you might need also it just depends on how you set it all up. i have had two dd's with juice and i never had any problems you just need to do it right the first time and maintain it all

Re: opinions on a hydro kit
Hey Bill, I'm in Rochester and have done quite a few setups on S-10s, some for customers and some on my own rides. Hit me up if you need a hand when you get ready to do the install

Re: opinions on a hydro kit
I would stay away from that kit you posted. Pro Hopper, instead of earning more customers by innovative, quality parts, has decided to cut costs to maintain their profit margin. The gears are the cheapest knock off versions made in that type of gearpump. The shafts will break off, if the motors dont burn up first. They are going on the SACO name, when in fact the new motors are either not SACOs at all, or merely a low quality, low cost (to them) model that cannot withstand the power being thrown at them in any average hydraulic setup. On top of this, the Pro X line uses the cheapest pipe fittings known the man, comparable to somthing you would find in a super soaker. I am urging everyone, including myself, to not be tempted by there spiffy online ordering. which is hard since they were my first several setups in the late 90s, early 2000s
There are several other companies who really dont offer anything special, but at least dont sell junk quality. And there are many other companies coming up who are attempting to change the face of the automotive hydraulic industry. This includes Hydroholics, but I would like to see them offer some shock relocated, coil sprung methods of suspension rather than relying on accumulators for all of there setups. Shop around. I know most stuff looks the same, and it mostly is,but when buying a 'kit' theres no tellng what cheap parts they throw in there knowing you will overlook it. |

Re: opinions on a hydro kit
If you go hydros go with a REDS setup.. But really you should look into bags instead, not tryin to piss on the hydro guys but ive owned both and built both.. bags are 10x better unless you wanna be hoppin and dancing and sheeeit..
