are your ground connections good?

are the solenoids AND pumps mounted to bare metal??

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

ya its got to be a ground because i took the power wire from my other pump and put it on the pump that is staying on and it worked fine it came on and no sticking... the solenoids are mounted to bare metal but the pump isnt but its been like that for years and never had this problem

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

When the battery's are low, it will cause the solenoids to stick. When the solenoids stick, the causes the motor to go. Another common problem is a lot of people buy the cheap pre-wired switch boxes that come with some very cheaply built switches. Make sure your switches are Carling brand. A easy way to spot this is the prongs on a Carling are gold of color. The small screws on the prongs are for flat head screw drivers only, and also in gold of color.

Are both pumps wired up to the same voltage?

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

if ya wanna check your motor, pull it off an see if there is any oil in it. or see if there are any shavings. more than likely i think it is gonna be a battery.

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

If there is any oil in the motor, it will be due to a leaky blow proof seal. But most likely it's a voltage problem. You can check for bad batteries, and eliminate any that are bad. One bad battery would kill the rest.

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

no its not the batteries they are charged now and its not the motor because i to the power wire from one of the other pumps and hooked it up to the back pump and it works fine i went throught all of the wireing for that back pump cuz i thaught maybe the switch wire was gettting grounded out and i did the same for thepower wire and i rechecked the solinoids and still the when i hit the back switch the pump doesnt even come on its just the solinoids clicking over so i dont know what else it could be????????

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

one lil quick bit i do. disconnect the power wire to pump off the silenoid, and quickly tap it to the live side of the silenoid. watch for moving trucks and be careful not to hold it long. this will tell u if your problem is in wiring, switch or silenoid. if it dont work its ground, power wire, or batteries

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

if you have more than one pump and the other is workin. if its possible to switch power aft the silenoids and see which order they work.

Re: need help asap!!!!!!!

Have you tried changing the solenoids? maybe if you have more than one hooked up, one can be messed up. Maybe the solenoids aren't grounded properly?
