Re: ive searched but its just...
You didn't find any install pictures at all? I think you're searching wrong. Look in each section (Baggin It and Juicin It) and try to find project threads. You'll find plenty of pictures of each.
http://www.airridetalk.com/beginners-corner.html Go there for a pretty good description of what stuff does and where it goes in an air ride setup. I don't know of anything for hydraulics, though. Last edited by ExtCab96S_Dime : 07-04-2009 at 08:59 PM. |

Re: ive searched but its just...
here are some pics to show you how rear end installs can vary. opting to keep the main leaf or go for a custom link setup really depends on how much movement you want

Re: ive searched but its just...
its not that hard to figure out.
look at installs on cars, its the same for trucks pretty much. you can have the suspension installed on a normal frame GM car in about an hour. s-10 would take a little longer because you dont have a spring pocket in the rear. the front, I would cut a hole for the cylinder to go through. this would be where the upper shock mount is. the cylinder merely bolts to a platform/cup that sits atop the coil spring. the cylinder is hel in place by a reinforcement, usually a serpate peice called a donut the top of the cylinder collar/nut rest againt the bottom of the donut reinforcement plate. minimum height is determined by coil height, and the distance the cylinder collar is recessed into the coil's platform cup. the bottom of spring sits in the stock bottom pocket of the lower a-arm. in the rear you need to construct a perch for the spring. instead of mounting the cylinder above the coil, i would mount the cylinder shaft to the axle, and suspend the coil around the cylinder on a platform cup (atop the cylinder nut/collar) and have an upper pocket for the coil to rest on. A hole would still be cut for the cylinder to go through the coil pocket. when the suspension compresses, the cylinder does not move with the frame, as it is connected to the axle, some squeeks will occur between the pocket hole and the cylinder casing if the pocket hole is not lined and lubed for smooth movement. your pretty much on your own when it comes to hydros, as no one will sell a kit for your truck, or give you any installation instructions. |
