Re: hydro ?

I have a hydro set up on my 99 and you should not be able to play while you are charging because your system ground should be unplugged while charging......I could be wrong though....just my .02

Re: hydro ?

im looking to put some Hydrolics on my s10 sometime into the future, what in your setup determines how many batteries you need, i know on bags that adding vavles will give you side to side and everything as compared to a standard minimum setup, but whatts the deal with the batts i knw they need to be vented b/c they build up hydrogen gas.

Re: hydro ?

There should be a big black platic peice between two wire's.. pull that apart.. that's klnown as your "Quick disconnect" it should be your best freind if anything ever goes wrong with you Hydro's..

And it would normally be under the driver seat for quick access to it. I'm sure you have one, but if you don't, GET ONE NOW!

Re: hydro ?

As for the batts, you don't need a ton of batts, they just give you more power. They let you go up faster and you have gogo-juice for longer.

Re: hydro ?

My setup has 4 batteries (can get up to 48 v), I run them at 36 v. Which gives me plenty of play time......

Your ground disconnect (which you should have one) is used to stop the system in case of a solenoid sticking, dumps sticking open etc. I would recommend that the ground be in the rear of the car or truck.....it is possible for the ground to seize on the connector, which could cause a fire, your car or truck might get blazed, but you will be much safer then putting under your front seat...

I love my hydros, but your ride is not going to be that good unless you get accumalators......remember also there is upkeep with them as well....but there is upkeep with anything.....just treat them good and have someone install them who knows what they are doing.....50% product 50% installer, if all done right you should not have any problems.

Re: hydro ?

Accumalators are placed on the pump, one for each cylinder. They have a nitrogen charge in them that allows them to hold fluid in the 'belly', which acts as a shock absorber which greatly improves your ride, however they will slow the system down a little, but rides great....

I dont know about all this "Unhooking the Ground" to charge the batteries. Do you disconnect the ground on your main battery to boost it?

Anyway, It all depends on the charger. my charger will only charge 12 volts at a time so I rewire all 4 of my batteries so they are 12volts. some chargers will do up to 96 volts, but they cost big bucks.

Peace

What Voltage Does ure set up have, if u have 2 batteries and they are ran at 24 volts no u cant leave them all hooked up unless u have a 24 volt battery charger. I would recommend unhooking everything to charge your batteries.
