my daily driven blazer has hydraulics and it rides okay at about 1/2. if you do your setup right it wont let you down. i've seen bagged trucks, and personally, i will alway have hydros on my car/ truck.

Re: confused

well, i have installed both and have had both on my trucks, and like hydryan said, either setup is good if its done right..

Hydros you have to keep the batteries charged or you will fry your solenoids or burn up a motor or dump, if you get a leak its oil everywhere. those are the only downsides to me which are no big deal if you take care of everything. plus hydros are fast.

Bags. to be able to play, you need good compressors or an EDC or compressed air. plus plenty of reserve air (tanks). bags are fun and low maintenance once the initial install is done, even though it can get pricey. plus if you get a leak its not a mess, just a pain to find. lol

both are fun, its really your own choice

Re: confused

i have hydros in my 86 extended cab its my daily an i love it, i thought about switchin to bags but i decided against it. it depends on what you want tho. i like the fact that i can hop. i kno you can hop with bags but imo its cheaper to hop with hydros.

Re: confused

both setups can be fun and both can have issues...it all depends on what brands you get and how well it is installed....

Re: confused

dont wry about the whorin i dont care im still tryin to decide...i mean one reason im condsidering air is because i think it would be easier to work on than hydros. The shop that would install it is a place called T&D customs in Goose Creek, SC, they are really big in the lowrider and hoppin scene. but thanx alot for the help im still stuck though

i have juice on my ride and i can tell you that if you do decide to go with juice make sure you get a streetcharger. it hooks up like an amp and charges you batteries while the truck is running.

Re: confused

ive ridden in a bagged s10, and a bagged mazda, a hydro'd blazer, and a hydro'd impala... hahaha. anyways. there is a big difference in quality hydro componants. the blazer, although about 1200lbs lighter, had a 15,000$ system, and rode like it was on clouds. the impala, however, rode like a pos, and it had a complicated system with cheap parts.

bags are easier to make ride nice in my opinion, and look at pricing. you can pick up bags for the entire project for 500$ (2 slam re7's, 2 slam re8's from sd.com) where as you could spend upwards of 1000 for a really good cylinder to match the ride quality, if mounted in the same fasion.

if your a newb to lowered or adj. suspension vehicles, i would personally advise you to start with bags, and move to hydro's when you learn how to properly set up the hydro's to ride perfect.

Re: confused

it is a hard decision.... I ve got hydros on my 98 s-10 riddin on 20's. it can be a good ride if its setup right. put on accumulators and it will be even softer. Ive had them for about 2 years now and havent had any problems other than i blew a motor but this was a used kit that i bought in the first place. Other than that NO LEAKS, NO PROBLEMS. Hydros are quick no noise waiting for compressors to fill tanks. the only thing is trhat you have to charge the batteries like once a week or so depending on how often you use your switches.

Bags if you want a fast and reliable setup you will probably spend more. And personally i dont like waiting for a tank to fill.

Hydros all the way BABy.

Re: confused

ive had 2 bagged trucks and 1 juiecd truck. my first bagged truck rode like shit, and i hated waiting for the compressors. The truck i have now is on bags, and it rides amazing. But still.. the compressor issue.. MY mazda on juice rode OK. it was kinda bouncy due to having monoleafs in the back. But all in all it wasnt THAT bad.. In all honesty.. i liked the juice better for the sole reason of not having to worry about waiting for air.. i charged my batteries like once every 2 weeks. and i knew, that whenever i hit the switch, the truck was gonna come up to full height if needed. With nitrogen, or an EDC its not as bad. I have nitrogen, and EDC and an electric compressor on my truck. so its alright. Its all up to you, and what you want out of your truck. Both setups will do whatever you want them to do... limiting factor on both setups is you.. how you build them, and what parts you buy..
