Bags And Hydros
What is the differance between the two what are some up and down of each because I am considering ordering the complete speed bag kit from mic for 2 g's but they have a hydro kit for 1100 and I dont know what to do and also do I have to have a c-notch or a four link to be bagged and to lay frame?

big difference is thee airbag system is gonna ride a lot better for a decent riding hydro system yer gonna pay a lot more than 1100 and i think the airbag systems look cleaner on installation and no matter which way you go you are going to have to cut frame to lay as the axle will hit the frame before you lay so either a 4 link or a c notch is gonna be needed in the rear

4 link is NOT needed for anything but to give better handling and eliminate wheel hop. you can lay out on leafs just fine, people do it all the time, its cheaper...

and with hydros, they can catch fire and many other things, theyre messier, more expensive in the long run in a lot of cases, and you have to buy expensive batteries and things like that...all in all i would go with air bags bro

man it all depends on how much you play with the dros, if you play with them every ***in time you see a person yeah your gonna break some thing, and oh yeah i've seen air compressors catch fire too, put it this way everything leaks just which would you rather work with air or oil???

Hey
Yea I think I am going to go with fast bags from like mic or somthing like their speed bag kit it is 2g's but it comes with a big constant duty compressor and 8 valves but if I dont want the two front bags to be connected like sharing air how do I prevent this or what do I look for in a kit because a guy on here said that he could take off his sway bar and not of body roll because his two front bags arent connected.

You can have an air tank for the front and an air tank for the back if you dont want front/rear to share. I thiknk what you are thinking of is when you have a front/back setup and you hit corners and all the air shifts to the opposite side, you won't have this with a fbss setup.

Oh ya, and don't forget a shock relocator kit for your front setup.

if the kit comes with 8 valves that means u have 2 valves per bag. so if u want the front to have independent corners it will, and so will the back because each corner will have its own valves and will not be sharing air flow from a single valve or single set of valves.

To lay frame your gonna need mono leaf, 4" angled block and yes a big notch.

You can lay a truck out fine without a 4link. I run a monoleaf setup on my s10... f,b air bag setup.. and a 7" notch..i just flipped my leafs upside downa and i lay out..i got 2" spindles in front, and bags in front also..4links are great for preventing wheel hop, and they give a smoother ride to your truck!

they also look wicked as hell, and if u get a cantilever 4 link u can get 30+ inches of lift in the back

Re: Bags And Hydros
Biggest differece IMO, one the suspension is based on air, the other hydraulic fluid / SAE oil.

Re: Bags And Hydros
i really wouldnt order anything from mic unless you like wasting your money. they are tons of awesome dealers on this forum. jason from suicidedoors (my personal favorite. thanks for everything j). larry from innovative air suspension (awesome guy. great prices and always there to help out) and matt from guage (good prices and s10 forum discount). cant go wrong with any of those guys. no one from mic even supports this site. ive also heard alot of bad stuff about mic
i dont have any experience with jp kustoms but i had heard good things about them too |

Re: Bags And Hydros
im sick of this topic,
pros: They Both kick ass cons: they both suck when they break pros: bitches look cons: they both suck when they break pros: you are adjustable cons:......they both suck when they break here is my advice take 4 pieces of paper, write hydros on 2 and bags on 2, fold em, put em in a hat, pick one and buy it. As long as your are adjustable who cares, they both kick ass......if done right. |
