Re: Air Ride Or Hydralics

either can ride good it just depends on what you want to spend on your setup and if you want to 3 wheel and hop or just go up and down

Re: Air Ride Or Hydralics

i had hydros on my civic...bags on a few trucks...havent had to many problems with either one..

i would suggest bags...they ride better IMO..less of a mess...less stuff to go wrong..

Re: Air Ride Or Hydralics

AIR RIDE - rides on a cloud of air
less room lost to components
almost no maintenance once installed correctly
limited hopping unless dbl ported and big valves/line
if running scuba/bottle only, heavy switch finger = $$$$ refills

HYDROZ - coils provide jittry, ride less give
batteries/pumps take lots of room
daily charging batteries gets old sometimes
maintenance of inner seals sometimes a pain in the ass
prone to electrical sparkage/fires with heavy hitting
always good for hopping
very quiet and good for sneak attack switch hitting/dragging

both have pros and cons, hydroz have been around alot longer, but bags have progressed by "leaps and bounds" LITERALLY!!!

Re: Air Ride Or Hydralics

one of the biggest pros about air for me is that if it leaks air is easy to clean up. however i do consider hydraulics to be a much more versatile system in what it can do. big hopping and 3 wheels are a challenge with air. both can ride quite well when properly set up

Air bags have been used before the 1930s so I doute the dros have been used before bags.

Re: Air Ride Or Hydralics

i had hydraulics on a car for a while, worst move ever for a daily driver. Changing seals on an oily rod is not fun, especially on the side of the road.

When air leaks you don't have to clean for a couple of hours to get the mess gone.

If you do your hydro setup right then you shouldn't have any leaks. use take on non flared fittings. make sure everything is tight. Also use good cyclinders. Prohopper have some of the best cyclinders out, they have a good seal on them. Depending on use change the seals once a year or so. Every CCE cylinder I've seen has leaked. This is my buddies car that he just sold cause he has a new project to redo:
