Air or juice?

Hello everyone, I've finally decided that the 3/4 fixed drop is just not gonna cut it anymore, so I am looking into either a CCE Street Edition 2-pump hydraulic setup or a low cost, 3/8 fast bag kit. I am only concerned with raising and lowering my truck, I am sick of bottoming out on potholes and getting embarrased at my amount of fender gap still My questions are, which is gonna be cheaper providing I do nothing, I want to have a shop install it all, I'm lazy..... but I don't want to spend a lot, what should I do. Also, some estimates would be helpful. Thanks in advance....

Re: Air or juice?

hydros are cheaper...but...have fun with the following:

a: spring, summer, fall hydro fluid, winter motor oil...have fun changing the seals back and forth every time you change

b: leak with air...no mess leak with hydros...enjoy!

c: hydros have zero ride quality...bags are infinatly adjustable...

these are just a few pros and cons...yes you can also hop with both

Re: Air or juice?

I think all u guys are tools. Its all in the install, you will have ride quality in both setups, neither is better. Neither should be driven in the winter.

Its all in preferance. As far as price, you can probably get a 3/8 manual kit for right around the same price as the dros + install. Just wondering.. All the info to install is here on the site, why dont you want to do it ureself. Im pretty sure, depending where u are from, guys from the board will help ya.

You dont have to have accumaltors to have ride quality. U can have the right spring ratio and shocks and u are just fine.

Your Pros and Cons are pretty one sided.

Both do the exact same thing in different ways.
Both have good points and bad points.

In the end the pros and cons are equal for both setups and it comes down to personal preference.

JUNKBOX, just do a little research on the forums and decide what YOU want to do. Not what everyone else is doing or says to do.

I like my juice and it rides nice without accumulators.
All the Juice haters out there get their POV from SNOOP DOGG videos. Most of them have never riden in a nicely setup juiced ride.

WTF!! never heard of anyone doing that, motor oil is too thick and in the winter would slow you waaaaaaay down, if your changing your fluids and seals all the time your just retarted

that is true, but if you have everything tight you will get no leaks! and also, if your body dropping with air lines, you are more prone to burning up a air line and having leaks everywere, and hydros you wont have that problem around, fire, slag and splatter.

like J.R said, you can get good ride with the right spring rate, and with the right height of coil, accumulators help alot, but if done right it will ride damn good without. Were to bags, you get SHITTY ride without shocks!

I agree with that, kinda, hopping is gay lmao.

No I am not saying go with hydros, or bags, but like eacyde said, he is pretty one sided on his views!

Re: Air or juice?

The reason its allways one sided on the views around here is because most of the people that talk sh!t about hydros, know nothing about them, all they know is their sisters baby's daddys cousin had hydros on his montie carlo, and it was a bumpy ride, and it leaked everyware. About 90% of the people that comment on here about dros have no xperince with them at all.

Re: Air or juice?

For all you juice haters,
I am losing my air set-up and going to juice. Hi Low comp 4-pump, 10 batt. And I am going from air, 1/2" line and nitrogen. I am doing it just because of all the kids here that sh!t on juice and think bags are gods gift to mini-trucks.

I also have 18's and 20's on my sonoma right now. They are 150 spoke all chrome wires. The original dubs. What do you think about that?

Hey Eacyde, Zero and Eyepoppin', thanks for keeping the board informational. I appreciate your knowledge. I would like some personal opinions on juice companies. What do you think about Pro Hopper, CCE, Showtime, Hi Low? Let a brotha know...

I feel better getting that off my chest...

yea i know there are a few of us on here that have a little knowladge on juice, but like i said atleast 90% of the people that comment on here dont have a clue, and its kinda sad because like RikUY said, most people think that bags are gods gift to minitrucks. There are lots of options out thare, from both sides of the fence.

Im runnin prohopper pumps in my setup right now, but in the past ive allways delt with CCE, and i have allways liked cce, they make good products. I got the prohopper kit now tho like i said, and i really like that too, parts seem to be very strong, and of good quality. I have absoluteley no xperince with Hi Lo so i dont really have a comment on that. All i can say is try to avoid Red's older products, lots of friends of my have gone through alot of that older equip, but i see they have a whole new line out now, it auctually looks pretty good. idk tho.

Right now i am running some OLD SKOOL Fenner pumps with Delta dumps. I have not had any major problem with them as of yet.

I think all the brands are equal in quality. It comes down to Cost of goods a quality of service. Go with the company who makes it easy to do business.

Re: Air or juice?

basically, i think the biggest descision to be made with juice or bags is alignment...i dont want to be runnin through tires like crazy cause of the lack of pressure guages with juice...thats the only thing thats makin me think longer about juice...since juice seems more rugged

Re: Air or juice?

i had juice on my blazer and i loved it. i have bags on my fullsize and its cool too. juice is definately more fun. the ride is very similar (hydros w/ no accumulators vs. bags w/ no shocks) you cant go wrong with either one if properly installed

Your alignment will never be perfect no matter what system you go with. Just have it aligned after spindles get installed and before bags of juice go in.

Close alignment is the "Price of Admisson" for adjustable suspension.
