Cantilever help
I was wondering if anyone had any drawings or prints of a cantilever setup(true cantilever)? Measurements would be great. Oh, I need it to be a single bag setup. I may be asking for the world but I figured I would try anyway. Also, I want to use the stock front arms and a 2" drop spindle and 2500 bags. How close will that put my frame to the ground? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cantilever help
Thanks for the help. I want to use one bag because I have one bag. But, it's not your run of the mill bag. I am a welder/fabricator and the company I work for builds logging equipment. We use to build log trailers and some of them had air ride suspention. Two of the bags on one trailer would lift 22 tons. I should have no trouble out of that one bag on my truck. There are log trailers that have had the same bags for over 5 years. If you happen to know anything about logging, loggers beat the sh!t out of their equipment.Another reason I want to do this you dont see alot of real cantilever setups with one bag.

Re: Cantilever help
I don't think you want to use a bag that has a weight capacity of 11 tons. Number one, the bag will take a shit load of air to fill. Number 2, since it has such a large large large spring rate, it will ride like fuggin ass. Stick to a 'run of the mill' double convoluted bag like a Firestone 255c, 224c, or 22c or similar, and you will be fine. I'd say if you're goin for a single bag setup, go with a 22c bag from Firestone. It has a slightly larger capacity, but since you're only using 1, the spring rate will still be 'alright' for daily use.
I've only seen one 'single bag' cantilever of all of the canti's I've ever looked through, and that was one that SSC did on a late model taco. They might have it on their site, but I'm not sure. The only shitty thing about it was that it was a fuggin 2 link... All that work and the put a shitty 2 link on it. O well. ![]()
