Building a 00 Camaro SS

ok, so i found a guy that lives like 4-5 hours away from me, he has a 2000 Chevy Camaro SS, its a roller, no interior, no spoiler, missing the t-tops, no hood, no right side fender, no bumper cover, no engine or trans, no gas tank, no heads lights, but all of the wire harness is still in tact, im getting this for more than a deal ($500.00) it doesnt have the original SS wheels instead hes got some 1989 formula wheels on there i think... so theres a lot of exterior, interior and power/drivetain work to do.. i looked up the price for a complete LS1/4L60E/wirehardness/ecu and used with around 89k its about 2k, probably need a driveshaft too... looked at a few prices for the exterior also... so in the end ill probably invest about id say 4-6k into this project, the car itself only costing me 500 buxs, but because its already tore down, theres really no limits of what i can change and modify. what does everyone think?

Re: Building a 00 Camaro SS

With the work you are looking at putting into this car, I personally think it is a waste of time and money. Why not pick up a classic or street rod to build?

Re: Building a 00 Camaro SS

It all depends on what you want. If you have lots of time, and the money to do it, go for it. You might come out cheaper than buying one, but before you do it, you need to look up prices on hoped up SS's and see if you think you can come out on top. And im not talking about a thou or two. For that much work, you need to come out on top at least 5
