Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

i built the bedside around the rearend. I used the stock 4x4 s10 rearend and with the width of the wheels and offset of them, they stuck out like 6 inches on each side.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

so im thinking the stock 4x4 axle is 3 inches wider per side and a 2wd rim mounted on that will give me another 1.75 inches that will give me close to f inches so it wont look to bad. atleast i hope not.

4wd axles are 2.25" wider per side than 2wd axles

2wd = 54.5" wide
4wd = 59.0" wide
ZR2 = 63.0" wide

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

Josh, Mike here, Got the truck home safely, we LOVE this truck, after long talks (from IOWA) Dude you are a LONNNNG way from us....we have decided to Show your truck and have his 96 s-10 as his driver.
I have read alot about being young and trashing your build, but thats NOT gonna happen, He has been in My Corvette rebuilding shop for 4 past summers and knows the value of manufacturing/building/cleaning parts that you just cant find. As we said, we went to Georgia the weekend before and That truck was a NOTHING special truck. Dont rag on the boy just because we can afford to buy him a finished truck, We BOUGHT THE BEST TRUCK we could find within our designated spending limits (and the 18 hour drive) was WORTH the LOOK and see if its QUALITY....and JOSH......REALLY NICE WORK.....IF and when you are ready to sell anything that YOU have built again.....PLEASE CALL ME FIRST! We are SO happy to SHARE in YOUR Build, NOW on the EAST COAST..Here is my 14 year old sons current truck. He has been to 6 Shows this past summer and takes a trophy EVERY time.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

Im glad you love the truck. I was getting kind of worried since i have not herd anything from you. I glad to here that he has respect for cars and trucks at a very young age. I grew up helping me dad at his body shop for as long as i can remember and i know the right way to treat a car or truck and im happy to see that patrick is the same way. Be on the look out for April issue of street trucks, it will be gracing the cover. If you have any questions feel free to call me or email me. HAVE FUN WITH IT AND TAKE CARE OF MY TRUCK!!!!!!

well we will have to start the frame friday as the metal supplier dont have the 2x3 we need plus we ordered a shit load of other tubing for stuff we got to build for another customer so they not delivering it today since they dont have our full load of materials. once the metal gets here friday by 11am i will be starting on the rails. i went to post some before pics last night but the net (satelite) wasnt working cause on the rain ... i will have a thread up shortly once i get the rails up and some more progress..

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

First of all, I would like to tell you that you did a badass job on the truck,but at the same time I wish you wouldn't had finished it before me.
Believe it or not I started on my 1997 Sonoma truck at the end of 2005 doing everything that I could with the little money I had
because all the mods and body work I've done myself to save money
The plan was to turn it into right hand driver, put the motor in the bed and come in with 24" semi wheels all 6 of them
Cause I went with the whole DUALLYLAC look of a CTS-V SERIES LAC
all the way
In Nov. Of 2006 the truck needed to be dropped off at EKSTENSIVE, I had paid them $14,000 for a full custom frame, all the air ride, the shorting of the wheel base and everything else related with the assembly!! But somehow I fell behind working on customer's rides, I guess I lost my modivation but after seeing you finish your truck and seeing my same idea come to life it made me wanna finish what I started, not no longer to put my shop on the map, but to have the acomplishment of finishing what I started with my ride!! The people that don't know me might say I am copying your idea, but the ones that do know that I've been working on this before u even started building yours!! With all this said I will once more contratulate you!!! Thank you for motivating me again and hopefully next year Ill be draggin my truck on the streets of H-TOWN!!! If I have any questions, maybe Ill hit u up!!

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

Looks can be deciving it is true duals running 19.5s that have been milled to 19" the rear inners are 16" the 22's would have been way to wide to run true duals with out making the outside of the bed stick out rediculosly to far my frame is 4" narrower and the rear is 2" narrowed then the bed widened 4" just to ge the 19/16's under the rear fenders
i have a build thread on here. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f143/s...d-pics-408624/

the bed is a stepside grafted to the outside of a regular however it is spaced out about 2"on each side. it is a regular length bed.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

I think it's funny now that anybody builds a dually S10 regardless of if it's a Xcab longbed,a crewcab shortbed, or a crewcab longbed that everybody will say "so you're building one like the green and silver one?"

And most of the people building them probably had the idea for the build before tuckn22's was built but since he was the first everybody who doesn't personally know these builders will think they've copied him.

I know that I personally have had plans to build a crewcab longbed dually S10 for several years now, and to do it in a way that no one has ever imagined doing. I give props to all you guys that are able to build yours in the present day... I wish I was among your company

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

yea the 22's on mine would have looked bad ass but i think i would jsut have had to take out way too much im over crowded on the rear end as it is. I like the way the 19's look personaly if i seen the 22's i would like them more but since i cant see im perfectly happy. whats the plans on the next project

first off amazing truck i just read the post this thing is a master peice. before you made it a 'dually' did you have to shorten your axle to tuck in the rear with out rubbing? or was it stock width. and were the a arms you made shorter than the ones that your buddy had that you used to make em ??

This truck was voted one of the top ten trucks of 2009 by Street trucks magazine. That's pretty awesome.

Good work man.
