Man this thing has come a LOOOOOONG way since DragFest last year. *Props man* I wish I had the resources (and cash) to take on a build like this one. You still running the STI dash? I haven't seen any pics of the inside in awhile!!!

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

first off, props on the build. it looks awesome!

i do have one safety concern. i haven't had time to read the whole thread, so forgive me if someone else has asked this: Are the holes in your wheel adapters tapered on the outside to match the taper of the factory lugnuts? if not, i'd seriously reccomend having your dad's buddy machine in a matching taper to the lugnuts, which would also give you more thread engagement on the studs. it may have held up so far, but if you drive it a lot like that, the lugnuts will work loose and those studs will eventually break!

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

the adapters are drilled out to take the style lug nut that the old cragger wheels take. so they do get as much of the studs threads as possible. I started to block the bed down and its going to turn out f*ck great looking. blocking it down with 80 grit then but 2-3 more nice even coats of primer on it and then block it down again with 320. Last night i worked on it until midnight while the old lady was at work and i finished mounting the bear claw clamp and stricker bolt, then got the stock hinges off the doors and the B pillard. truck is coming together and will be rolling into the paint both on friday june 13th( 13 is my lucky number, so what a great day)i will be updating with pics as the week goes on.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

not too shabby, but damn yo you need to learn how to adjust a spray gun. Did you start with polyester? If not check out feather fill it would deff. be your friend in situations like this.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

dont waste your time blocking with 320, if your going to reprime use 180 then reprime unless its polyester then use 80 then reprime. If your going to paint 320 is too coarse, you can block with 180 then 400 wet or 400 on a finishing da then seal and paint.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

the gun is adjusted. i put 4 thick coats of primer on there so it will block out better with out cutting through. the more primer the better to a degree, for straighter over all bedsides.

Re: STFB Crewcab Longbed RHD. 22.5 semi wheels

just under 28 inches. the big chip on the door happened right after i painted it the first time. tha was my f*ck up and didnt prep the door very good between the coats of primer. the top coat didnt stick and there you have it, a big ugly f*ck'n door. Thats all taken car of and the truck is getting the green painted tomorrow after noon and then the silver is getting painted first thing saturday morning. i have been busting my ass this entire week to get it ready for paint and now its time to get it sprayed. I will be taking it to "super truck nations" now being held in St. Louis 2 weeks from tomorrow. I wil post some pics of the truck tomorrow night after the green is layd.
