Stepside BD on 20's?
Ok i have a 97 Sonoma stepside and right now I lay frame thanks to Suicidedoors.com (Thanks Jason) and i am wanting to SFBD my truck. I would like to know if this is possable on the 20's that i am picking up next week. I really dont want to switch to a standerd bed because there is only 1 other stepside in Indy that is bagged. I have heard that you can do it but they will rub holes in the bedside and that will really piss me off if that happens with my new paint!!! I forgot to say that i just want to lay rockers so like a 3 inch BD.

Re: Stepside BD on 20's?
there was a black primered one at ITB that was a stepside on 20's. He had taken tubs (most likely trailer fenders or something similar) and had to make a little hump type flare thing on the top of the stepside bulge so that the 20's wouldn't hit. Don't think I have a pic, but I'll check.

Re: Stepside BD on 20's?
There was a green extended cab down at blood drag i think that was body dropped on 22's looks like he sectioned the stepsides and raised them up then molded it back together cause it looks stock. I think it was a SFBD as well.

Re: Stepside BD on 20's?

Re: Stepside BD on 20's?
here's mine, lays out on an 18/20 combo, bedsides are not modified at all, the tires just BARELY touch the bed sides as the bed hits the ground.

Re: Stepside BD on 20's?
thats what i was thinking too, i figured that your truck was bodydropped around 3 inches, and 22's are only two inches taller, so.... i think it can be done, i have seen 22's on the back of a fleetside but thats nothing but hackin tha crap out of your bed. Guess unless anyone else has any input if it can be done or not i will just have to get some and find out, oh and bzzzt your truck is tha shit
