I purchased a set of speakers, not the speakers I showed in the above post, its a three way set, from dynaudio, system 362. Jon down at epicenter designs is going to be making some custom door panels to house the mid bass, I will make some pillars to hold the tweeters, and the mid range will go in the kick panel, amps, still undetermined. The sub stage, at this point in time, I think will be a JL 12W7, but I am not sure... ( I've always wanted one, but some people dont like them, dont know if its the price or what ). The link bars, control arms, and no notch tie rods are all at the powdercoater, getting powdercoated metallic silver, the frame will be painted black when I get it home. The fuel cell was purchased and delivered to barely legal last week, just your average run of the mill black 15 gallon! I have no pictures, but hope to produce some soon.

Re: So I finally started...

ok, quickie update.

Body on frame

Powdercoated link bars and control arms are back.... look sparkley

Very very minimal triming to the body to stick it on the frame.....really really happy about that, because usually its alittle bit of a bitch.

stuffs all coming together, but i dont have alot of time to talk about it because its busy, busy busy around here this week.

KENNY - Call the shop today if you can, or tommorrow, we need to holler at you about a few things you may want.

can I ask you to specify "motor work and upfront stuff"? also, since I dont know the show schedule off the top of my head, look for it around the end of spring, beginning of summer.

Re: So I finally started...

Ho LEE Shit! This is sweet. Just read the entire thread.

Ok...build it as the rendering has it, **** all this escalade front end on a yugo nonsense. Your ride is clean and subtle in the rendering, as someone who does the rendering thing, i'm sure that's the look the artist was going for.

This is a ride that in ten years will still look badass, and classy at the same time, cause there arn't any tacky "dated" mods put on it. The kind of truck you can take out to a classy restaurant in a three pc suit and hobnob with snooty-snoots...then rail down the block the same night.-Not an easy acomplishment. You did the right thing and enlisted some good talent for your build...don't skimp now!

Keep your body guy happy...this is a good thing to do...hint i'm a body guy...lol.

The wheels? I am up in the air on that dude. I think it looks killer in the rendering, and would look REALLY good.

I was going to do 17" Twisted Vista 2 on my 59 bug and paint the machined centers the body color, but couldn't decide either. I had so many sleepless nights I just changed the rim and went with the Intro Rally instead.

Frame looks way sick, don't POR that shit (why is everyone doing that nowadays anyway?) Use that chassis black paint-Eastwood company makes it, but I think there are lots of knockoff brands out there. I think you will like the look of it waaayyy better than POR...trust me. I have done it lots of times and it is VERY durable and oil/fluid resistant.

That is too sick a frame for POR. Do anything but POR I will be tuning in now to witness the progress.

Keep up the good work guys, I think we are witnessing the birth of another cover truck here.

Re: So I finally started...

wow, thanks for the kind words, i will check out that other option for painting, i appreciate everybodies words of motivation, and really hope I can make it what it needs to be. I didnt see it as a future cover truck, but, if it captivates the masses that much, then so be it!
