Re: So I finally started...

guess what? the body is at barely legal, its only a matter of time now until I get to bring it home and start the really fun stuff. Decided I am going to do the entire interior with a layer of deadener, not sure on the brand yet, cascade, raam, and Second skin are the choices... Other than that, I dont really have anything new! have a wonderful day, oh by the way, go spartans!!

Re: So I finally started...

taylor, you rock! Avdime, I originally was going to go with a 22 in the rear, so I believe thats how they designed it. I ended up going with 20s if you remember from earlier in the thread, maybe we'll step it up later in the future, for now, 20s will do.

Neato Gang.

Are you guys designing these link setups or just putting them together where they end up?

i was kind of wondering the same thing. It seemed to me that if i was going to do a 4 link with bag on bar i would want to do some kind of lift ratio. At full lift on those bags (exactly the same if the bags were on the axle or behind) the ride will be super rigid.

dont get me wrong it looks awesome but i dont see how the axle isn't going to move side to side when the bushings start to wear...

just my 2 cents

i was lookin at that the other night, there will still be side 2 side movement of the axle

richie has been doing bent tubing for a while, And has never had problems!
My buddys toyota on 20s done by richie earlier this summer has those bars and we couldnt get any side to side motion on his axle!

Re: So I finally started...

I'm not doubting anyone. My questions was simple.

Does he build these on paper/CAD first or does he physically sit there and play around until he finds something he likes.

It's pretty easy to see the triangulation, shit it's got twice as much as my three link and mine works fine.

Re: So I finally started...

LOL

jeesh, what an question.

Yes, everything is drawn up in CAD and BendTech before its made, the frame the link, the control arms everything.

Riche has been doing 4-links like that for about 4 years now, the first one he installed with bent triangulation bars like that has been on the road for over 20,000 miles, and his has yet to wear out, or show any signs of wear like that. Your theroy is alittle off, and i guess it would depend on what you meant in your timetable.

I dont know why most people on here, or auctually, only a select few, seem to think that everything done is just taken at a shot in the dark, hoping it will work. LOL , Ill say it very clearly, if these designs didnt work, we would not use them, plain and simple. These are designs and methods that have been proven BY US, not by taking other peoples words or just thinking it will.....these are designs that are on the road right now, on vehicles that riche has built in the past years, that work every day.

The rear didnt need a ton of lift since it was going to be limited by its shocks, we placed teh bag thare so that everything would stay under the notch and have no clearance issues, it gets enough lift to untuck a 22 if needed, which is all the customer requested.

i appriceate both your concern jerid and doug, it shows were atleast doing something right. hopefully i answered your concerns above.

have a good one!
