Re: So I finally started...

I may be selling my unused power slot rotors, I have a feeler for them in the classifieds. I am considering doing a big brake upgrade, talking to a member of the forum right now. Depending on how much it'll cost me, it might get done, not sure yet. They are brand new like I said, the fronts are for a S-10, the rear are for a blazer. So, I'd have to split them between buyers. Let me know if interested.

I sent in my official quote request to the bodyshop yesterday, hopefully it's not tooooo much $$$ ( i am laid off remember ). I've got about 11,000 dollars remaining in the ole bank account. we'll see how far that gets me.

For those interested this is what the bodyshop will be doing.
-Shave door handles (one is done)
-Install grant kustoms step shavers and roll pan
-Fill the holes from the roof rack
-Shave the wiper and push button from rear gate
-Completely finish off the firewall, smmoooooooth is good

A buddy of mine and I still have to finish up the front fenders, I was just going to gut them, but I am going to put some trailer inners on there, I think it'll dress up the engine bay a little more. The antenna is alreay filled so that's a plus.

This bitch'll get done someday!

Re: So I finally started...

just a idea...i made my inter fenders and was going to paint them but went with bedliner....but i made full inter wheel wells and i drive this in the rain and the engine stays clean..was not to bad and i did them out of 16ga steel

and i had the 22" on when i sized them so some day down the road i can run them

Re: So I finally started...

I was just going to do the trailer fenders cut down to fit inside of my fenders. I plan on cutting the inners out of the stock ones once I get the rest back from paint, then mocking, welding, and doing the bodywork on the fenders before I take it in for the actual paint.

Re: So I finally started...

The truck may and may not be going to the bodyshop. Long story short. The guy that was going to do everything for me, got a new job (with me) and had no time. He then got laid off (with me) and has spare time again. On top of that, he is working at a bodyshop, so it would benefit him to do my work for me. I kind of feel bad as I told the bodyshop that I was going to bring it in, but things come up.

Right now the only thing getting done is metal work and primer anyway. I will post pictures right up until the actual paint is on the truck, then photos will come few and far between... Sorry

Thanks for the words of confidence sir! I am getting more and more excited as the days go by, because, things are STARTING to happen. If all goes as planned, it will be at oaktown next year, but that's with things working out. My luck, I will get the truck painted, and start putting it back together, only to get called back to work for another period of time, leaving me with no time to work on the truck, but we'll see.

The paint I am thinking up right now is sure to be a stunner.... whether it's the rendering, or an alteration to the rendering, well that's for you all to see next season.

Funny how that works huh? You either have a lot of work and money with no time to spend it or tons of time to spend it because you're unemployed.

Re: So I finally started...

alright, got a little disheartened today, but it's ok now. The truck WILL be going to the bodyshop, taking it there tomorrow.

My buddy and I will however be doing the front fenders, and doing the painting of the truck (depending on a couple things). I have two ideas for paint at this time, one will be done one place, and the other, a different place. As soon as I speak with a friend of my fathers. I will know who is painting the truck.

He says he will have it about a week, so in a week, I will have a primered body sitting on my frame. My brake stuff will be here in either tomorrow, or monday. I will have that ALL done by next week, and I will have the frame ready to go (IE: all bolts tightened for the final time.

Re: So I finally started...

yep it rolls, on a four wheeled cart. When I get it back from getting the bodywork done, I will put the body back on the frame. I will then proceed to figure what needs to be cut out of the front fenders, and weld in the tubs.

After that, I need to finish the motor mockup (find an intake i'd like to use, so I know what needs to be done with the hood.

After the front is figured, I will determine exactly what will be done for paint... Let the saga begin, sorta lol...
