Yea it's all good Doug, rumor is, and there are ALWAYS rumors, I will be getting "hired" after this week shutdown that we have, at traditional wage. I don't believe a damn thing until I am signing it, if you catch my drift lol.

Haha. Ya, good ol' auto industry. There's ALWAYS rumors. Good luck man. Better than the rumors around my place. Rumor has it they're shutting down 2nd shift (which I'm on) at the July 4th shutdown. I think I'll be tranfered to days. Let's hope...

sweet sweet...

im not sure if we make parts for you guys or not...

i work at KBI in Sandusky (formerly Delphi Spindle Systems, and further back it was General Motors New Departure)

we make the spindle bearings for alot of mid size cars and a few trucks and SUVs... (we actually make the drive bearings for the front of the 4x4 s-series trucks but its obviously just a service part now...)

my line actually makes Cadillac and Corvette bearings

and as far as the rumors go, i wouldnt put any weight on you getting hired in as "traditional employee" because of all the hoop-la... there are plenty of employees in my plant (and other plants across the country) that have flow back rights to GM and arent being moved any time soon... plus all the problems that were going on with American Axle and their strike brought even more problems to the surface...

honestly, id count your blessings if you make it through the summer... and if you get hired in then amen brotha and send me a referral when you get one so i can make the big bucks...

haha!

I dont believe anything that happens till it happens, however, they said they are to use the temps in the pool to replace the exiting workers on a 1 : 1 ratio. theres alreay like 100 temps like me that have been hired at traditional, so, we'll see...

yeah, if it happens, I'll be happy, if it doesn't, it will serve as a good job to save some cash up to go do something else. I am trying to be optimistic without getting ahead of myself.

Re: So I finally started...

With my job coming back out of nowhere, I had to change some plans. I had a 10 day vacation planned to virginia, and a weekend in cedar point (large amusement park for those that don't know). This past weekend I was in cedar point, got back late sunday evening, and left early yesterday morning to go to virginia, that is where I am now... Therefore! The truck won't be going anywhere until I get back.

I am off for changeover right now, which is why I took my vacation when I did, we are only down for one week this year due to orders, and because they went on strike for a month. We also have like eight saturdays scheduled in a row haha.

Haha. This weekend. I thought it was 2 weeks from now and started some rework on my air managment. Now I realize it has to be done next weekend. My truck may or may not be there.

Kenny, hit our forum and look in the MiniTruckin Picture section for a topic called "Anyone Know This Truck?". Someone in London, ON claiming your truck is his. Welcome to the club.

NICE! On the topic of draggin' detroit, that's going to be a negative, I've got to work 6 days a week for about the next 8 or 9 weeks. I wouldn't have time!

Re: So I finally started...

Since it's been damn near three days. I bought some shock mounts for the front, we shall get those situated, and then I am going to send it off to get powdered. I was going to do it, then I changed my mind, I have been back and forth like three times now, but I am going to do it. I am thinking a silver, since the truck will be blue. I have asked like four times, but I always forget, what kind of shocks are people using on the front? Its like a nissan hardbody or something, I always forget lol.

I just know them as the hardbody red shocks.
Ask for that at the auto parts store and they know. At least they do here.

I don't know if you have an Autozone near you but I picked up these right here:

http://www.autozone.com/R,APP775162/...ductDetail.htm

They are pretty good shocks, lifetime warranty so when I blow them I just go back and get new ones, and only $16.99 a piece.

Yea, they're Nissan Hardbody shocks. They may be listed in the parts store books/computers as a Nissan D21 pickup though.

How do these compare in length to hardbody shocks? Or do the older trucks use the same shocks?

The Hardbody was from 1986.5-1997, and I think the front suspension of the 1st generation of the Frontier was the same also.
