Re: So I finally started...
ok, todays update:
<B>Not alot of pictures today of much different. We tore down the skeleton frame, beveled all the edges, then assembled it again with all the temporary bracing and jiging. Josh welded all day today, getting the entire skeleton of the frame welded up, we also whipped up a removeable tranny x-member, with a nicely machined mount. We pretty much had the whole day into welding the frame up, because you have to move slowley and at diffent sections of the frame at one time, and while josh was wleding that stuff up, i was machining parts for orders we have..... tommorrow will be some more exciting updates, we are gonna start on the bodymounts, and the driveshaft hoop area. more updates on friday evening! Taylor apparently josh dosent like me taking pictures of him welding, because in every one, he is giving me the finger......riche also..............? lol Taylor ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by BarelyLegalWeld : 10-03-2007 at 06:53 PM. |

Drilled and tapped. We use .25 wall tubing, so its thick enough to drill and tap easily. thanks guys, more pics on friday! Taylor |

Re: So I finally started...
Suprise update today!!!!
we got some shit done today that i was pretty excited about, so i snapped some pics. Josh and i shot ideas around pretty much all morning about how we wanted to do the bodymounts, Since we were running a narrow frame, which is very rarely done on a blazer....or s-10 for that matter, i wanted them to be alittle different than the normal blazer or s10 bodymounts. What we came up with was pretty cool i think, and i like it alot. So, we jigged it all up, and notched a bunch of tube, and cut some more shit up, and vuala! this is what we got!! Dont pay attention to the rear body mounts yet, they are just jiged in place, they will be a mirror image of the front ones by the end of tommorrow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bending the tubing is difficult. ![]() ![]() ![]() for real tho, just so nobody takes it seriously here....this is the real bender...i just machined those nifty rods on the side of the main support.....to hold the dies and shit....this bender is a fukn beast! ![]() more updates tommorrow!!!!! Re: So I finally started...
are those just regular rodends for the mounts? Looks badass is there going to be a bushing on the bottom with something like a washer keeping it from going through?

Re: So I finally started...
Yep, there a standard style poly bushing, with alittle larger lip. I just maching a plug to go into the bottom of the sleve, and weld it inplace at teh bottom of the poly, then run a bolt through the center, and its good to go! weve used them alot on different vehicles, and have liked them alot. Re: So I finally started...
The real one is a JD2 Model 4 bender. Its a tank, i personally own a model 3 from JD2 that i use at home, and this thing puts it to shame. I think riche picked it up a few years ago, and im pretty sure hes never had a problem with it, it really is a kick ass bender. Taylor |

You should have used something bigger than a $20 bill to show the size of the lip come on baller lol. The rims look badass though. The whole progress looks really good.

Re: So I finally started...
More Updates!!!!
Ok, so today we got alot done also. We finished the mid body mounts and the rear bodymounts, and also dropped and plated the front frame horns. Were working on a really good pace right now, and by the end of next week, the entire frame, and all suspension work should be completely done. All tube for the bodymounts are 1.25"-.25wall DOM tubing, and all the material used for the Frame horns is .25 thick PO plate. heres todays progress: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() <B>Monday morning everything will be fully welded on the frame, and then the suspension will get started in the rear, which will be a nice trick setup also.
