Re: So I finally started...
We made our firewall cuts under the steering mount. Reworked the sheet metal so the anlge was correct and that was it. The factory stuff worked great.

HM, guess we'll just have to see how everything works when we mock up the 350.

Re: So I finally started...
What exact colors are you going to be using when you paint it?? Blue obviously (what kind of blue) the silver line dividing the 2 colors (what type of silver) and what kind of white I think a pearl or metallic white would look clean and different!

Re: So I finally started...
The blue, I am thinking maybe nissan 350z blue, silver, that'll just be something simple, nothing fancy. The white is going to be a newly released color by GM, its called Platinum ice. It is one of my FAVORITE factory colors. No I am not painting my wheels.

Platinum Ice. Gee, what market do you think they were aiming at when they came up with that name?

Re: So I finally started...
It's a beautiful color, its the white diamond pearl with a silver base as opposed to a gold base, it gives it a blue hue.

Re: So I finally started...
well today was a lonnggg day. Got up at about 7:00 after about 4 hours of sleep lol. Went to the good ole YMCA and did some good working out. Went over to Dereks house (bigblock10) and tore his V8 out of his truck, got that and the transmission out, started to clean it up some, then we went to dinner, and bowling. After this day, I am ready to crash! The plan for the motor is some sanderson headers, make the steering shaft using Flaming river stuff, upon completion of that I plan on getting the heads reworked (guy owes my dad some work!) and putting some march pullies on the front. Might get a polished intake, don't quite know yet. I am thinking of running autometer Cobalt guages inside. I am looking forward to it, I think it'll be fun, and I think it'll help the truck "show". What do you guys think?

Re: So I finally started...
Uh.... duh! Hell ya it'll help it. The Cobalt gauges would look great. I'm debating if I want to keep the ultralites in my truck or try something different. They're good gauges but they suck at night. I'd love to get some ultralite II's but I just can't see spending all that extra cash. We'll see.

Re: So I finally started...
I had the ultralites on my trans am for boost, and fuel pressure. I don't know how much I would like them if I had to look at them every time I checked my speed, fuel level, etc. I didnt have to look at the boost that often, so the ultralites didnt really bother me. It should be fun, I am actually really looking forward to it.

Re: So I finally started...
Beginning to get very sick and tired of the UIA, its been nearly 5 weeks, and I have received no money, hence the reason I am running out! This is also causing me to worry about the ability to buy stuff for the truck, today was a no progress day, I am sick, and didn't do much of anything at all. Just watched some NCAA bball. It's only going to get more and more difficult as spring gets here, everybody will be getting out their nice cars/trucks, and I have nothing lol this is the FIRST spring I havent had something I considered cool to drive around, should be very interesting.

Re: So I finally started...
I've been reworking some things up front and I'm about to head out to the garage in a few minutes to see if I can figure out where the oil leak's coming from. No fun but at least I'm making a little progress.

Re: So I finally started...
lmao, i didnt do shit but some brake work, new hoses, and some wheels. I ownt be enjoying it, ill be cursing it up and down all summer long cause of rattles and squeaks and wishing i was rear bagged/body dropped. and drooling over my motor i wana get next week (if all goes well). Believe me, after havoc, if i have all of my ducks in a row, ill be parking it WAY early to get the V8 in that bitch. I need speed, this FWD beater thing is ****ing boring, i cant wait for a good old fashioned burnout contest! |

Re: So I finally started...
Scott, you better get in good with some tire manufacturer. You already tear it up with a V6.
