Re: So I finally started...
I shall be looking for your truck. I like it alot! It's a great looking ride. In my past experiences anything with hydros has NOT been my style, but yours is an exception for sure!

Re: So I finally started...
It tempted me to want to upgrade to some 22 inch twisted vistas, but that would be borderline insane... ( I have yet to even drive on the vistas I have...) |

Re: So I finally started...
I keep "bumping" my thread but that is only because I keep forgetting things in my updates. I got some brake lines today, nothing too special, but my dad intends on working on that with me this weekend. One question for those that have worked on their brakes, where are you mounting the proportioning valve? There is a spot right down on the frame that would work nicely if I knew it wasnt going to be in the way. That would require me to throw the motor on there, and I dont really feel like doing that until the last step. I also determined how I will get the air lines to go in my frame, now, the hard part. Getting them from the front of the truck, to the back. I need to find something that is hard enough to feed through, but yet, bendable to go over the notch in the frame, we shall see, I think it will work nicely.
Also! Decided I will be doing an EDC, just like Doug from Oaktown did, with the sanden 709, I have to find a model like the one he used and go from there. I have the basics on how to get it to work, and it just seems like a stupid idea NOT to go for it, I am getting rid of A/C as it is, why not put an edc compressor in its place?! have a good sleep everybody, tune in tomorrow for some slow, but sure updates. Thanks. |

Re: So I finally started...
As I recall, Doug's was an Ebay find. I think he had to get a few different parts to get things to work right. He also used a kit from SD to mount it. The bracket that mounts between the engine and the Sanden had to be modified one more time once he did the bd to lower it some more.

Re: So I finally started...
. I am pretty pumped. I have wanted one forever, but didn't want to drop the 700 dollars for it. Just for clarification, I am referring to the sanden he has in the stock pump location. Not a york mounted off of the alternator side.Last edited by Kenny_Cox : 02-22-2008 at 11:15 AM. |

Re: So I finally started...
great idea derek! I cannot believe I didn't think of that before!.... (madman) On a serious note, I am going to either shop around on Ebay, or find a car in a junkyard that has the model I need. Seems like an easy enough modification to tackle.

Re: So I finally started...
Some parts are custom and some are bought. He works at a place with a CNC machine and some metalworking tools. I lose track of what was bought at what was made. I know the brace over the engine was from SD.

Re: So I finally started...
as far as I can see, the sanden is mounted right in stock location... He had to make some new aluminum brackets with a countersunk spot for a bolt, then tapped in new mounting spots for the sanden....

Re: So I finally started...
hey whats up, trucks looking good, im sure ill see you at the oaktown show as well, ive been watching this buildup since you started, i just see a little confusion, the pic you posted was of the sanden that doug has on his truck, the one that the other doug is talking about in this thread is the york(the bracket from sd) from what i remember i belive doug is now only running his sanden

Re: So I finally started...
yep I think Doug (mystic) and I are on the same page now. I am not referring to the york. I am referring to the sanden, as I intend on putting it in the stock a/c location
The etching primer has been covered in sealer primer, and, black semi gloss rattle can lol. Now yes, I used rattle can, this is for my own pleasure (painting the tubs in the first place). They will be underneath carpet, and deadener ![]() |

Re: So I finally started...
almost 100 percent certain he made them. The bracket that the other doug (mystic) was referring to was when he had the York installed where they usually go, right by the alternator, thats the bracket that suicide doors sells.
