Re: So I finally started...
I talked to Richie today, I am going to be sending all four of my four link bars back to them, so they can get re-powder coated. After that, he is going to make sure they are adjusted properly (may be the cause of my tire rubbing). If that doesnt fix the problem, he said he would come to my house, and see if there is something that can be done, now thats service. Thanks Rich

Re: So I finally started...
The frame turned out amazing PM me on what you used also, I have an idea of what it is, but want to confirm.
You already know my feelings on your paint, so I won't go there...lol. Looking good brother, but remember you could always go with grey and black for the interior. If you mix it together just right, and switch up the tones here and there, you could still pull it off. PM ME BROTHER! |

Re: So I finally started...
Hopefully my truck will be a prime example of a great looking interior using greys and black. Hence the project name Greyscale.

Re: So I finally started...
Well! I got all the link bars off, the control arms and no notch tie rods look to be holding up, so I am not going to get those re-done. If it were warmer than 1 degree outside, and better than a -20 wind chill. Id be seam sealing, but I will have to attempt it tomorrow or some other time. I am thinking of using some sort of roll on bed liner on the bottom of my truck. Its affordable, looks decent, and claims to not chip. Anybody ever used it on the bottom of their truck? lol

Re: So I finally started...
As far as I know, its anything blazer spindle in general, all it does it cause more camber. Your truck didnt have a problem with the 20's before, I dont see it causing a problem now...

Re: So I finally started...
I hear ya Eric, I cannot be used as a reference on this, I didnt do it. I had to make a post because the post count on this thread was 666, bad number folks. Tomorrow I am going to get some work done, shit, depending on how energetic I am feeling, I might even roll some "bedliner" on the undercarriage. We'll see!

Re: So I finally started...
as always my updates are few and far between, and nothing special. This update is a bad news update. I got a letter today from unemployment stating that I am no longer eligible, and that I owe 530 dollars. This is because I am enrolled in school. Funny thing is, I was enrolled in school FULL TIME while working for GM full time. So I had to call, and get things straightened out, and now everything has to be reviewed. It could take up to four weeks. Bunch of pricks i tell you. But i guess if I were giving somebody money, Id be a prick too. I did however get a master cylinder, and some brake lines, I am going to get the seams sealed probably this weekend, and clean up the undercarriage some. Put the roll on liner on there, maybe by next weekend have the body back on the frame (pending the return of my bars)

Re: So I finally started...
Sorry to hear about the BS man. I work in the auto industry too (robotics) and have dealt with MARVIN way too much. I hate that damn thing. What kind of work did you do for GM?

Re: So I finally started...
I made cars, to be exact, i made the crossover that is selling like hotcakes. The Saturn Outlook, the Buick Enclave and the GMC Acadia. Despite good sales, they deleted a shift. Oh well. It's retarded because I worked full time and went to school full time. The community college I go to offers all online classes which is what I take. I am faxing my protest tomorrow, it will take UP TO four weeks, but i think I still get to claim, just if they decide I am not eligible, then I have to give that much more money back. Its frustrating to say the least, they are pricks no doubt. On a positive note, my brand new Digital Design subwoofer came today lol

Re: So I finally started...
i just bought the 2500 series, its a 2512. I dont need ungodly amounts of bass and I've always wanted to try one. The CF cap will look extra nice when I take the DD sticker off too.

Re: So I finally started...
Well! I got my seams all sealed up. Cleaned up all the jagged edges on the bottom of the truck. I sealed from the bottom, then from the top. I don't see any more imperfections, I think I got them all really nicely. I have to scuffy up the "tidal wave" in the cab. I was wondering, what should I "paint" that bare metal with so that it wont rust? Just something simple as none of it will be seen. It will be under layers of sound deadener and carpet...

Re: So I finally started...
Crap, I guess you got it done...lol, sorry.
Just use rubberized 3M undercoating, the spraycan variety. Or just spray/roll on some Tremclad rust paint. I'm pretty sure you can get a quart for like a 10 bucks and roll it on with a paint roller, or stick it in a gun and shoot it...right over bare metal. Check the label to be sure. Almost anything will work though, just cover that raw metal up! |

Re: So I finally started...
yeah I read online AFTER I did the seam sealing that the seam sealer doesnt like to bond with bare metal. Which sucks, because I thought thats how it was supposed to work best. *IDIOT* Anybody know from experience if this is going to cause a problem later on? (like falling off lol)
