Re: So I finally started...

not in the back, dont know why they didnt put any. I will be putting them on in the front. I have the new control arms with the mount set into the arm itself, so its not protruding! www.distinctusa.com is the only place you can find any decent information on them, and even that isnt very good, but it shows retail pricing lol. I bought them from a dealer I know in New Jersey.

Re: So I finally started...

what do you mean ouch? LOL If you're referring to retail pricing, yes they are pricey. I didnt pay full retail, but they still cost a lot! As I previously mentioned, its a passion of mine.

yessir! Update....! After scuffy pads, and wire brushing the frame, i've got ALL the new metal ready for some paint, and I've almost got the front clip down to bare metal...yes, bare metal. For those that have done anything to attempt that, you know its not easy, and I did it all by hand, didnt want to bust out the sander right now. Its looking good! Look for some photos later for sure. Peace!!

Re: So I finally started...

Used some de-greaser, some self etching primer, and I've got some more goodies to go as well. Here's some photos.

The frame will be painted black, thats about it for now!

Re: So I finally started...

its amazing how much of a difference just some self etching primer can make lol. He painted everything up to the front clip, I have to do a little more work on that, but, the back is done. it looks titties! Pics in about 4 minutes lol

Can't wait to see this thing completed. Kenny, I was just talking to someone in the Jersey area about the Rainbow gear I'm purchasing. He mentioned your name and this project.

No "birth sheets" were sent with the amps. These things are top notch, I would say on par with mcintosh. But, I am not for certain, I am not a fan of their cosmetics.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. Funny thing is, the way he was talking about it he made it sound like he had just heard of your truck and your purchase. Didn't actually admit to being the one that sold the equipment to ya. Don seems like a good guy. Can't wait to order my equipment.

Have you decided what your're using for interconnects? And did you go with SSA for the sound deadening? He mentioned something about that too when I told him that's what I have in my truck.

Re: So I finally started...

I bought cascade deadening, he sells it, and swears by it. Interconnects, since I only need about 1 meter each, I might splurge for some IXOS stuff, but its so damn pricey. What kind of rainbows are you buying?

Re: So I finally started...

iPaul DM2000 for the sub.
iPaul 4.300 for the front stage

CS265.25 Germs for the front stage (bi-amped)
SL 130's for the rear fill
Amboss 12" sub

Don must specialize in amps that come in fancy bags.

Re: So I finally started...

Haha. Sorry guys. If you want to see what I'm talking about the details are at http://car.rainbow-audio.de/home/home.php?lan=2. Just hit the little Products tab and you can see what I'm talking about. Great stuff. Not nearly as baller as what Kenny has there though. I couldn't see spending much more on SQ equipment with the SB350, headers, and the Flowmaster 40.

Yeah my 4.3 doesnt make much noise lol. I had the Germaniums in my trans am, powered off of a pdx 4.150 biamped, and it sounded damn good. A great set of speakers for the price, especially don price lol. I have heard good things about the Ipaul amps, let me know how you like them, shit, I am sure we'll be comparing sounds this season. Later bro!
