So I finally started...

I have been searching around, and asking many questions, but today, I finally started the tear down process of my 2002 2 door, 2 wheel drive blazer. I bought it on Wednesday, and started on friday, gotta love it! The blazer will under-go a stockfloor bodydrop fit for a 20/22 combo from the fellas over at barely legal fabrication, the air management is still being pieced together, as well as everything else. Plans are to have it road worthy by next spring/early summer! I will post some pictures once I get the camera up an running. Its been a while, but I am glad to be back to the mini scene. I will be asking many questions, and requesting a lot of help, so bear with me!

well as long as they dont cost me any extra money lol. I had a MINOR setback, tornado flew through my area today, crazy winds, lightning, all the good stuff. A trailer park that is right down the street from our neighborhood got hit hard. Well I dont have power, so no power tools, compressor wont kick on, I am stuck doing everything by hand. I got all the seats out today, all the rear trim pieces, and I am slowly taking apart the dash... ( damn thing has a LOT of screws ) Updates when I bring my camera to my girlfriends house, as I wont have power until sunday at midnight according to the power people..

Re: So I finally started...

100 percent stock, barely legal will be installing a rear linkage setup, as well as tubbing the firewall and putting some tubs in the cab, and dont forget the new frame from firewall back! I have zero fabricating skills, but do have the knowledge to run airline and stuff, and hook up the electrical stuff, that is my area of experience. They will be doing the stuff I cannot do!

Edit: Forgot to mention, the more I tear this thing apart, the more excited I get, i've wanted a blazer since day one, just didnt have the funds to get it done!

Got some PHOTOS, not the greatest, but still, you get the point, first are before I started, then some progress, then how it sits now, more work to be done tomorrow, well... later today!

**wanted to ask a question, the plastic piece on the outside, around the rear glass, its faded from the sun, is that removeable? does the entire window need to be removed?**

oh this I know lol we got a few things taken out of the engine bay, but some stuff came up, one of which was me getting a new job, so I have had to do some stuff with that. It will cut down on amount of work time a little bit, but cash flow will be double, cant turn that down! Hopefully i can have this tore down by end of week, I have to get it to barely legal by mid september!

Re: So I finally started...

no, we probably wont be doing those...maybee for a few people that request them or something, but we see no advantage to it, we like how the uni-joint looks, so we will show it off.

Not many people seemed interested in them, i offered them to a few people, and they said they liked how the uni-joint looked, and wanted to show them off also, so, its on the back burner.

Re: So I finally started...

for the small few that care, not much work got done on the car today, had a lot of homework to get done in the astronomy class, hopefully tomorrow we can make a larger dent. Only thing to update at this point in time is that I have priced my wheels. 20x8.5 inch up front, 22x8.5 out back, Intro twisted vistas. I am still debating on wheel choice 100 percent, between the v rod, vista, and twisted, but I will more than likely be going with the twisted, they are to be ordered shortly after I take the frame to barely legal, so that theyll be done at about the same time, thanks all!

plans for the bags are air over shocks on all 4 corners, compressor.. I plan on running engine driven compressor feeding two 5 gallon tanks, the link is a 4 link that barely legal will be designing.. thats about it, I might run hard line for the air line, and I might just run all braided line, thatll be a decision I make closer to installation.

Re: So I finally started...

Ok so I took time off of the school work, and dove into the front of the truck. Got the inner and outer fenders off, got the computer out, the fuse block, abs, core support, front bumper and the ac/heat/defrost setup taken out. It looks like we are moving around pretty well. I have two weeks from saturday before I have to take it to barely legal, here's a couple photos.

edit: notice, the ac unit is still there, its gone now, just didnt snap any pictures..

Do you mind if I make a suggestion?? Those pics are really hard to see, since your truck is black, turn up the flash. I will be watching this thread, but I wanna see the progress man!!! Keep it going!

Re: So I finally started...

I can do that on the new pictures for you, I got a lot more done today, body is unbolted from frame, entire harness is out of the truck, got the rear glass off, the rear gate off. Whenever I get a chance, the body will be taken off.
