Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
3" which means i did over body drop it, all righty then thanks i forgot about that but its all good the mounts are just tacked on
edit new problem if i air the truck up to where the tires are level with the top of the fender the truck is 1" off the ground Last edited by s10sixteynine : 04-12-2008 at 07:21 PM. |

Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
the chance of you having a problem of the tire to high is the an uneven body drop.. i have run into this problem... hard to explain... but the front end of the truck is pointing to far down. like slopping down.. thus putting the fenders down to far making tires stick high up...mine is on 20's and i had to cut the hood a bit and i shouldn't have to.. i can explain further on like aim or somthing

Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
see thats the thing it really cant be because all of my gaps are right if i raise the core support up to the top of the tires i cant open the door

Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
well i never told anyone this but i really don't care, its not much of a secret. i did not body drop my front horms as much as the rest of the truck. they are about 1/2" higher! the fender is so flexiable when it is all cut up that you can bolt it down on the cab side and lift up on the front until it just barely slides onto the radiator supprt. this bought me the extra room i needed because i am body dropped 3 1/4.
also i am getting ready to install what i think to be my 6th front end on my truck, this one will be something from a 98+ i think it will look dope. Last edited by lowdime96 : 04-14-2008 at 01:50 AM. |

Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
well what i ended up doing is a body drop and a body lift, lol, i had a bunch of extra blocks laying around from various body lifts ive done over the yrs and i made some 1/2" ones for the truck, i strated to redo the body mounts since they are just tacked on but i figured this way if i ever ditch the 22s i can pull the spacers and lay full rocker, o well 1/2" from layin rocker on 22s is fine with me

Looks good man..... I've always liked that front end.
That front bumper, a chrome grille shell with billet, everything else body color, and some big assed Centerline Smoothies! I know it's been done before, but who can argue with perfection!?! ![]() |

Re: Project ~ stock floored on 22s
about not dropping the frame horns as much as the bodydrop to get the tires to tuck is a great idea. i never thought about doing that but im going to try it on mine for a little more wheel clearence. Also think that the new front end you have will look better then the old grille. Looks good.
