Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

here's the problem tho. My driveshaft is hitting my mount that i'm using to attach my upper 4 link bars too. Just as soon as it airs out the driveshaft hits it. I plan on making a 3" driveshaft for it now

Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

not moving the mount... if i do they will start going through the bed.. the driveshaft is hitting the crossmember that the upper bars mount to so thats a no go since i'm keeping a stock floored bed. Can anyone lighten pics up? I've got about 3-4 since the damn batteries died

Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

Looking good... One question tho...Are you getting good penatration on those welds? The one around the bar (links are connected too) in the last picture looks like the wire speed was up too high and not burnt in enough. Not try to piss you/anyone off, just hate to hear about it braking while doing 75mph. Later, Neverfinishedtoy.

not trying to step on anyones toes either but there does indeed look to be excessive weld build up

Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

Front Horns gone bye bye

3/4" Sectioned out and reinstalled

Radiator support back on w/o radiator

Drivers Tie Rod Notch

How i left it

The front horns do have gussets in place but i didn't get a chance to take any pics of them but will next time

Also i cant fit my radiator in my support. the lines that go into the bottom of it hit the frame. Any input?

Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

nice work homie! becareful with the horns though. i had to go back and cut a 45 out on the frame side of it so i could getthe rad in there... but i do have a v8 rad so that may not effect you....

Re: (Project) Stock Floor Body Drop

should i go ahead and order new body bushing and tranny bushings? My body bushings are worn out pretty good and since its torn apart i plan on doing everything correctly this time since chevrolet couldn't. Also what would be a good brand? Energy Suspesion?

Energy Suspension Universal Firm bodymount bushings are what I'm using. They're only 7/16" thick on the bottom (there's also the thickness of a washer and bolt head underneath them too, but it shouldn't be any more than 1" total). And between the frame mount and bodymount they're only 13/16" thick plus the thickness of a washer. They utilize a 1/4" thick plate on the frame.

Part # from Energy Suspension is 9.4101
