thats what EVERYONE tells me about mine too...but i dunno, it sounds really ****ing stupid but you feel almost a bond to it.

I am replacing my cab and bed also...but i still feel as if it was the same truck, it was MY truck...i cant give up on it, and i cant just send it to the scrap hopper and replace it with another truck.

It doesnt make monetary, time, or labor sense...but trust me, for me atleast, its a weird sense of fatherhood that you feel....you cant give up on your baby, you have to get it back to pimpin status.

I dunno...i just couldnt replace my truck...i couldnt bring myself to it, it just wouldnt be the same. Too many hours, sweat, tears and GREAT times are with that truck already....i cant throw that memory away cuz its a lil shambled right now.

whoa...that was deep....sorry

and on a side note....brian, man....PLEASE dont give up on this thing....not now!

if i were closer to Devin my truck would be there already....but something about shops turns me off....the only one i trust now is myself.

Re: -[Project]- Orange Sonoma Resurrection

good to hear you havent given up hope man. this thing will be badass one day for sure. one question though, what is going to happen to afterhours? closing down or what? i was just wondering if you are going to have to get the truck home now or could it stay put until its done.

Re: -[Project]- Orange Sonoma Resurrection

so is the suspension and BD complete? just waiting for a motor? Then i would imagine its time for an assload of detail work like the interior and stuff.

Either way dont give up man! Grant it, you have been through so much with that truck (that i couldnt even fatham me going through myself) and you're so close to it being driveable again...keep at it!

It might not be your first truck, but my old man gave me some advice when i wanted to sell my Noma, he said "never get rid of your first truck, i regret selling mine." Its just something about a guy and his vehicle

well there is not one wire in the truck...no gas tank or lines...no brake lines or booster...no motor...so it only a matter of time...

I feel ya man....by the time I'm done with my truck I will have replaced EVERYTHING other than maybe the steering box and the front clip. I coulda just bought those 2 items and built a truck from scratch but i wouldn't have felt that it was "mine"...

I was helpin him that night, he got everything cut and tack welded but I had to leave because it was 5:30 Am, he stayed a while later than that... when we went back the next day he decides it's not good enough and takes it apart and starts cutting again. He's a perfectionist, even the stuff you can't see has to be perfect. ( He was making sure the square indents at the front of the bed were symetrical even though Brains going to cover the inside of the bed).
