its so funny you guys came up with every possible scenerio for that extra cab but the suicide doors idea. he mentioned it in the first post. ive had the hinges over a year and havent got around to it. then u see a picture of his RF amp and the 3rd door is open. this one u can clearly see isnt a 3rd door or i couldnt tell at least.

before this post, I would like to give one more thanks to Mr. Slappy Mcnasty, because if he wasnt so ganster to do his first, i probably wouldnt have had the balls to do what i did today! now I am by no means copying what he did, but gave it a twist

THE REVEAL!
i just cant wait any longer and i did ALOT of cutting today. 15 saw zaw blades later, and 7 hours of cutting with that and the plasma i have not quite a mockup, but you get the idea.... no turning back now!

cutting the old cab in half. yes in half...those green tape lines were to **** wtih you guys, they dont actually mean anything

and more cutting....

and this is as far as i got today. not quite mockup but here it is. it is NOT a crew cab, it is NOT a backwards cab, but a double cab (literally) and ext ext cab (someone said this earlier i believe

) this will let me put my seat back further with all my speakers, and allow me to fit MORE speakers!!!! and correct me if im wrong, but i belive this is the ONLY doored ext ext cab 1998+ s10 in the world...

the 3rd door will be huge, i was gonna do double doors but cant seem to get the geometry to work with the body lines. the suicide hinges are gettin sold, well hopefully traded for some new tail lights. at the rate im going i should have this cab mostly welded up by the end of the weekend, then its frame time......

the frame: is NOT getting longer! it will be the same length for one reason and one reason only: so it can fit in my garage. i was originally gonna take both of my beds and weld them together and make a 30' s10, but im not leaving this thing in the driveway! so as I build the sfbd frame, it will 1/4in walled 2x3, narrowed about 8 inches and sent straight back. on the stock frame where it kips up for the bed will remain flat until the rear axle (this will make sense later) and i have an interesting canti design in the works. my homey ryan whos letting be barrow is plasma is gonna water jet my brackets for me at his work. this thing is gonna be gangsta!

heres a shitty rendering of what its gonna look like. work with me, im a fabricator not a graphic designer! if somebody would like to do a better one for me id really appreciate it! the only part i think looks goofy is where the ext cab windows meet, because one side of the window is square, the other is round. so its gonna be a wedge looking peice of sheetmetal ont he upper pillar. in my rendering it looks really bad cause i drew it in paint and just copy pasted and shit till it looked decent enough to get the point across

also this weekend il post more detailed pictures of how im building this cab. theres alot of factors to take into account: the exterior lines of the truck, the amount of bodydrop allowing head room (this is hard to explain, but i will show when i get to that stage), not cutting so much out of the doors that i cant build my subframe floor, interior bracing, integrating factory bracing to hold the bodylines and structural integrity, the tranny tunnel (which will be lifted due to the bodydrop) , how the cab is going to mount to the frame, how the new windows are going to mount (if you have ever removed s10 cab windows youd understand, il take pics), maintaing the roof shape (you can see how im going to actually cut half of the new cabs roof to keep the bodyline) and god damn much much much more im prolly forgetting cause iv been up for 29 hours.... wel see if anyone even reads this novel anyway :P

i REALLY wanted to do a longer bed, but the way my garage is wont fit. its really wide but not very deep, and parking diagnally wont work with all my tols and shit. originally i was gonna take both beds and make a super super long truck, but that ideas out the window

got some more done today. i just called it a night and am gonna hit the local cruise spot in the daily in a lil bit.

i got more done then it looks like in the pics. i got the rest of the cab trimmed to fi the new cab. I still need to do some more work on the 3rd door for prep, but other then that its almost go time! also i have the new cab taped off ready to cut, but was gettin tired and thought it would be a better idea to do that when i am full of energy so i dont **** up lol

I think that if you made the cab in the back basically the double extended cab and made the 2 windows one would be sick. Make it like a crew cab that doesnt have doors to open. Just have the one big third door with a big lexan glass instead of 2 smaller ones. But thats just my opinion im sure itll come out sweet.

i got quite a bit done today...

cut the back of the new cab off

pulled the door... actually i cut it off with the plasma :spiteful:

see the line? CHOP with the plasma!

and blew the dust off the welder and fired it up, got the door semi tacked together. god damn this 20 gauge sheetmetal is hard as hell to weld... i also have ALOT of interior bracing to do. in these pics the body is NOT welded, just the door so everything looks goofy. and the top of the door needs to be trimmed

oh it WILL be finished, i dont leave projects undone, it might take me a while, but im on it! the frame is gonna start in a few weeks but i got a shitload of welding to do!

yeah thats hwat iv been tryin. the second it starts to really heat up its all bad!

the brown truck came to my house today

got my new sonoma front bumper from my man slappy.this is his old bumper, and its already cut to lay door! less work for me yay! thanks brotha!! so hey can i use the old s10 bumper brackets to make this work? i noticed the sonoma front is like a valence more then a bumper, how do i mount it? should i just fab my own bumper piece to fit inside of it and mount up to the frame?

thats what 70' of bubble wrap, 2 rolls of clear tape and 20 minutes got you, lmfao. i used the factory sonoma bumper support to hang it along the little fender "pins" hold it on the sides so it didnt go anywhere.
cant believe its happening man, thats just insane, and i thought i was "pushing" an envelope. the welding took me like 4 months to get the sheetmetal all good, then a few days of a slide hammer and stud gun did the trick fixin the welding warpage/dents.....

LOWER AND LOUDER! got some more done today. i just called it a night and am gonna hit the local cruise spot in the daily in a lil bit. i got more done then it looks like in the pics. i got the rest of the cab trimmed to fi the new cab. I still need to do some more work on the 3rd door for prep, but other then that its almost go time! also i have the new cab taped off ready to cut, but was gettin tired and thought it would be a better idea to do that when i am full of energy so i dont **** up lol cut off more rockers lol

I think that if you made the cab in the back basically the double extended cab and made the 2 windows one would be sick. Make it like a crew cab that doesnt have doors to open. Just have the one big third door with a big lexan glass instead of 2 smaller ones. But thats just my opinion im sure itll come out sweet.

LOWER AND LOUDER! i got quite a bit done today... cut the back of the new cab off pulled the door... actually i cut it off with the plasma :spiteful: see the line? CHOP with the plasma! and blew the dust off the welder and fired it up, got the door semi tacked together. god damn this 20 gauge sheetmetal is hard as hell to weld... i also have ALOT of interior bracing to do. in these pics the body is NOT welded, just the door so everything looks goofy. and the top of the door needs to be trimmed body lines and for anybody whos wondering if it 'lays' watch this video lol http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ease=100449464
