Re: My project s-10

i dont want to be to picky on someone elses work but you should have redone those bars that go over the pumpkin until you were happy because from this pic they look like they lean way left and dont align with the first bar. idk i might just be nit picking but you do way better work than i have ever seen i would have thought youd be more picky and not rush.

again i'm not saying its bad or anything because its still way better than my work but just trying to help out with some healthy critisism.

well like you said it is the angle of the picture. the front and back hoops do line up. believe me i'm not rush i wasted 10 feet of tubing try to get the front and back the same. an i'm not sure if you have bought any DOM tubing lately but it is $5.50 a foot for the size i'm using. so wasting 10ft is a big deal. but either way thanks

Re: My project s-10

damn, 800 bucks in metal, i hardly have that in my vette rearend, after getting the shafts shortened and getting the links plus the rodends i have about 750 in it, but i only have about 100 in my whole frame and i still have plenty of metal left from it. and i was wandering how i could get that nx4 because that pic of your frame is wicked.

how can you only have $100 in steel??? one piece of 2x3 3/16 tubing cost me 105 and i need two peice. i have looked at your thread and you have way more rectangle tubing then i do so i'm a little confused on that, but it did look like you were using a lot thin tubing then i have.

i have not even started to really work on the rear-end yet so i'm not sure how that is going to end up yet. i still have to find some wheels that i like first so i can firgure out the back space and stuff so that i can get the half shafts shorten. need to find some soon because i need to start building that a-arms for the rear-end.

what about NX4??? you want the program or just a picture????

Re: My project s-10

i'd like the program, i tried to download it off piratebay but hacking the keys was too hard and i gave up. and i bought a stick of 2x3 with 3/16th wall for 80bucks and i have 2 sticks of 2x4 by 1/4" wall for 10 bucks a piece. i'm kinda lucky lol. and a helpfull tip for the rearend is to get the shafts as long as you can and still clear the fenders because the shorter you go obviously the less travel you will get before your joints bind up. have you checked out this guys build it was very helpfull for me .... http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f143/9...uildup-259983/

well i'm not really sure that you will want to pay for it. last time we check i think it was like 25,000 for just the basic program. there are site that you can down load to but you need to be pretty good with a computer to get passed the code and other things. try a program called solidworks. it about the same thing and it is a lot easier to crack.

well i guess you got like on the steel then, but not everyone is that lucky. thanks for the tip but i already knew that. just from reading about the rear-end and trying to figure out which one i wanted to go with. seems to be a big problem with the vette rear-end, but it is the same lug pattern and the front so i will make it work. plus i only plan on running a 18" of 19" wheel, but we will see what i can find.
