yeah many of those are in the list. yeah i plan on going with a painless wire kit, because all the wires and everything for the old motor went with the motor. plus it would be a lot easier to go with something all new just so i can run everything the way i want it to be, but that is down the road a little ways yet.

i thought about doing that but then it would not match the rest of the frame. so they are just going to be made of 2 x 3 angle cut piece just like the rest of the frame

you most be asking about the floor?? no that is part of the back wall. i don't have the floor done yet and that is the last piece that i could put on before finishing the floor. the back wall bows out a couple inches in the middle to make room for future plans.

haha yeah i know!!! but thats the way i like it!! wheel base is only going to be 105.25". that is about 4" shorter then stock, but you can do thing like that when there is like no stock part left

Wow...I wish I had come across this thread sooner....Looks damn good. I like the smooth rear cab wall alot. I was looking at your frame work and wondered what thickness metal you used to patch up the frame? Again...looks great..will be keeping up with this one.

you must be asking about the metal used to blend new frame to old??? if so it is only 1/8" plate. 1/8" is what the stock frame is made of so i just used that to blend it out. 1/8" is just easier to work with and bend so that is the reason i used it. also the 2 x 3 in run into the stock frame by a couple of inches and is weld to the frame in the spring pocket. hope that was the answer you were looking for

Re: My project s-10

Thanks for the info..I never thought about going into the pocket...seems that would give it hella support! One other thing I was wondering was what you did for any extra support? Did you put any gussets to attach the two together, or did you just mold the clip and rails together with the 1/8'' metal ? Again, thanks for all your info...Its nice to get information from someone who has been there and knows what they are talking about...cant wait to see it done..although.....building it is 99% of the fun.

well that was the plan. i'm hoping that that will make it a very strong connection. you just have to make sure that there is still enough room for the bag and cup to sit in there too. i also gussets all of the joint that i could even the ones that got covered up by the 1/8" plate. was just trying to make the joints as strong as i could. other than that i just used the 1/8" plate to smooth the transition for old to new. it is also to add more strength to the transition but hopefully most of the joints strength will come from being inserted in the old frame and fully welded but inside and outside.

well i can only speak from what i have done and learn over the years but thank you just the same. yes i agree with you 100%. building them is all the fun but it is also nice to get out and make new friends and have fun at the shows

later

Re: My project s-10

Are you going to smooth all the welds out and do the whole smooth frame? Im sure it would be time consuming but im sure well worth the time and effort. I was looking at the chop top, and I must say...I dont think I would have the gonads to try something like that yet...Im sure that took some good fabricating skills. I am using this thread as a reference, and if you dont mind, use a couple of ideas I saw. Oh yeah, Another thing I saw that I know your going to encounter, if not already have...is the body mounts.....that has been bugging me for quite some time....Im confused on re-mounting the cab....I have the old body mounts but I really dont want to use them....so I figure on maybe building some new ones...the problem Im having is what to do about figuring where to re-mount it, not having anything to go by as a model. I am also hea
