Re: My project s-10
well the plan as of now is to cut the top off what is left of the stock frame before the a-arms and were the bag mounts. then run the 2x3 tubing up to that point and weld the stock frame to the tubing. then just plate it in to make a nice smooth transition. |

Re: My project s-10
HOLY CHRIST!!, Dude this truck is SICK, can't wait to see the finished product, you def know what your doing, and I have mad props for you attempting all of the work yourself. The overall outcome so far is amazing! It's guy's like you that make mini truck building so respectable! So, one question are you going to completely rebuild a new bed, and if you do are you going to section it again, or are you just going to run a slightly modfied stock bed, and leave it the stock length? Once again, MAD PROPS!!!!

Re: My project s-10
dam first off thanks alot!! it is nice to know that people like what i'm trying to do. to answer the first question yes i'm going to be rebuilding the whole bed. just going to start with two bed sides and build the rest. next question: yes i'm going to resection the bed. the new frame has already been shorten the 5" that the bed was section. third question: not sure to tell you the truth. it all depends on what i can do with the motor. if i can get the motor in low enough then i would like to only make the hood a little modified. like have a small cowl or something, but the all depend on the way the motor sits and all the clearances that i need around it. once again thanks for the props!!!!! ![]() |

. nice what happens when you make a phone call to see what is out there. just about have all the fish plates made just have to weld them on and i can start finishing off the stock to new frame transition and the rails will be all done. then just have to do all the tubing work. which should be a ton of fun![]() |

Re: My project s-10
well i got all the fish plate cut and drill out. also got all of them shaped and welded on to the frame. i flipped the frame over to weld up all the joints and to weld the bottom of the fish plates, but run out of gas with two plates left to go.
![]() god i can not tell you how much the pissed me off!!!!!. going to get more gas tonight so hopefully i well get the rest welded up.also started to work on the front transition, but because of no gas i don't get to far. i will try to post pictures when i get everything welded up. |
haha not sure you will have to worry about that. i still have to rebuild the motor and thing like that. it is going to have to be machined and lot of other things before it will be in the truck. well if you can push a truck thru you may have something to worry about but i not sure they will let me do that. but i will see you there i can tell you that[/quote\]
actually in 05 they let some kid push thru hi low in a doored toy, but he didnt get the official measurement, if he did he would have won it! im 3/4" into the damn door but if you show up w/that roof so low im done 4! oh well i cant always be lower right? i took hi lo at LR in 06 before it was doored and i heard last year some roached ass old bronco won it doored, but i guess the door was rotteed so bad it actually moved back and forth when the dude opened and shut the door. either way i def. wanna see this rollin! if you go to LR for sure hit me on the pm here and i will drop u the # call and well get up party a lil bit!! if your not rollin we can go for a drag in mine!
yeah well i pretty sure there is no way that i will make it with the motor running. just too much to do in that amount of time. i have wait this long to drive it under if own power what another year. yeah it sucks so bad see all the friend out drive around and stuff, but i want to make sure that i do things right the first time. ok i definitely will do that. as of now i think we are going to go but we will have to wait and see how carlisle works out. |
