My First Body Drop

July Of 07, I was driving on I40 when a tractor trailer cut over into my lane, I slammed on the brakes... the old lady behind me didnt. And of course her insurance company never paid me.

So I decided to Tackle My First Body Drop

Good call on holding off on a thread untill now, I love when someone just uploads a shit ton of progress pictures. Makes you look like you did it in a weekend, thats why I asked.

Re: My First Body Drop

One thing I wish I had changed about my bodydrop is the filler plates. I did mine straight like yours, I found out after they look much more sexy angled.

Re: My First Body Drop

can anyone tell me if my upper control arms are upside down and on the wrong side? I'm getting way too much positive camber, and heard that they need to be flipped and swapped sides

looks like you just need to swap sides with them....the balljoint looks like its angled towards the the front of the truck...i believe they need to be angled towards the rear....

Re: My First Body Drop

Looks really good, clean backhalf too. What made you pick a traditional over stockfloor? I like both but just wondering

Re: My First Body Drop

I have always liked the way a traditional bd looks, and I had some sheet metal from where I used to work, so it ended up bein cheaper for me

Re: My First Body Drop

balljoints on the upper arms go closer to the front of the truck. This keeps the tierods low to help with your caster.

just shim the upper arms a little more

really?? i thought due to steering axis inclination...the upper balljoint needed to be behind the lower

meh....guess i learned something today

EDIT: so where are you gonna put the gas tank? and how exactly are you going to be attaching your bed?

yeah, someone in another thread made reference to a caster on like a shopping cart or an office chair. the upper mounting point (UCA on the truck) is further forward than the lower mounting point (LCA). not an exact comparison but you get the idea. that's why the wheels return to center as you roll forward and let go of the wheel. casters on the shopping cart always point themselves in one direction as the roll. if you back the cart up they flip around.

Re: My First Body Drop

I'm pretty sure you need to switch the lines going from the MC to the proportioning valve.
