Cost To Body Drop?

I really havent seen it discused too much. But what does it cost for all the suplies? It seams like most of it would be for cutting disks and blades for sawzall.

I asume it would cost mor for sfbd. But how much for traditional?

Re: Cost To Body Drop?

rule of thumb 1000 an inch, 1500 and inch for sfbd. or like above but i find those numbers a bit off. if you want a slap together truck ya it can be cheep but if you want a frame you can show off then allot more. I got like 500 in steel alone not to mention the table to build it on! if you got the tools thats one thing but your going to spend allot on flap discs and cut off wheels, even if you have a plasma cutter, at least 2-3 spools of wire and a s to a t bottle of c-25. line-x the cab etc it adds up real quick. just depends on how nice of a truck your trying to build.

Re: Cost To Body Drop?

I had all the tools needed and metal layin around but id say I prob. spent at least 50-75 on cutoff wheels/sawzall blades/wire/gas. Then probably another 40-50 on random wiring stuff/bolts and nuts. I did buy a set of sd firewall tubs for 50 bux off a friend. So I probably have about 150-175 bux takin mine to the rockers. If you have the tools or can borrow them traditionals are not that expensive. I did a sfbd with a friend and he definatly had more than that in it just in metal but I'd say no more than 500-600 bux and that is including 4 link as well.

Michigan cheaper steel prices im in the midwest. Nebraska up north is where it is refined and used allot car (manufacturing )so its always a little cheaper there. steel is always cheep where trains run I paid 120 for a 10 foot section 2x3x3/16 so its a bit pricy here

well, you still would need to tub and raise the tranny tunnel, so there is a lot labor there.

Re: Cost To Body Drop?

I've got probably $1500 in mine for odds and ends. But I also go pretty much to the max on detail and such. I probably could keep it to less than $400 if I didn't give a shit. Luckily this is the truck's 2nd build so most of the goodies are already bought and on it.
