Actually, the IRS has the potential to make the truck (or car) walk, or fishtale. Under load the tires can toe in or out. Ask Brandt, with the Frontier with a Vette IRS. His walks pretty bad when you get on it around turns and light corners.

Hmm... is it maybe the way he mounted the bags that is doing that ?? bc i dont see how that would occur??? and y it would be any different on a truck then it would be on the vette it self...

Re: buildup preview

Thanks man ... its just been sitting for 8+ months so the rebuild is goin to be long time overdue .. The pics were right before we strapped it down... The suspension was a triangulated 4 link with the bags mounted on the front parallel bars but its goin bye bye for whats up top....

Re: buildup preview

got the truck unloaded about 20 mins ago along with the wheels and whatnot. figured i would take a few pics of it sitting in the yard. gonna bring it into the shop in a few weeks. gonna take a lil time to get a few things done at the shop before i start on the big project.

its not from the bags, its from the design of the vette suspension. if the truck is 'walking' like he says, then its because hes operating the suspension outside its intended dimensions. the front trailing arms on that irs are very short, which doesnt hurt it when operated at stock height in a vette, but if youre operating it low (or high), then the really short bars are pulling the tires forward. now if youre going around a curve, and experience body roll (which im sure you will), one tire is higher up in the wheel well then the other, so it puts the tire more forward than the other. if the track width on one side of the car is shorter than the other then youll feel the rear end of the car walking like described. nothing you can do about it really but raise it up back to where it was meant to be.

nice parts tho man, i picked up a lincoln irs for my project, gotta shorten it quite a bit tho and build new arms for it.

I see what you say now... didnt understand why it would be so differnt but i do see at the dif hieghts where it would do that .... yeah no doubt.... cool man thanks for the bit of knowledge....
