Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i tried building some battery trays but i just wasnt liking anything. then i found out that the batteries that im using come in a steel case so im gonna order my two batteries then use thier cases to mount em up on the tubs in the front sloping back. |

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
The truck is lookin awesome. I was planning on doing my front fenders the same way. Don't forget that the hood hinge will come down on top of the fenders. You will probably have to notch them out.

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
no notching required. i already put the hood on and it clears just fine there is actually a decent gap between the hood structure and the tubs.
the hinges on a 1st gen go into the cowl area. |

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
Cool. Maybe mine is different because my fenders have to sit above the lip of the fender. It actually hits where the hinges mount to the hood.
Every time I work on my truck I wish I would have stuck with 18s in the front. |

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
lets see. i picked up a full sheetmetal dash that was in a s10 got a different bed. some led tails and taillight fillers. the cab is for real now ready to paint. along with front clip. then get to work ont he bed. and get that out. so all i have is the chassis in the garage to finish all the metal work on the frame and clean it up for powder coat
last prime. little blocking monday then wetsand and paint later in week. then bringing the bed in to finish. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
