Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime

the truck looks great so far. if i didn't have so many projects I'd be pulling one of my trucks in to do the same, i have enough parts lying around to build a 1st gen super cheap as well.

why did you bring the liner up and over the bed side? most people stop at the top edge with out going over..but the smooth floor looks good

thanks man. i think im gonna have to get smaller tires. the back needs to be narrowed 1/2" on each side to let it lay out all the way. and when it does i think the tires gonna hit the top of my wheel tub.
its on 225/45/18 and 245/40/20

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime

or i just dont drag it. or raise the whole truck up 1/4 off the body. it wont lay the rocker. but then when these tires are done ill get smaller ones then take out the 1/4 spacer. plus im gonna need to drag it flat flat. because the overlapping of the stock frame on the driver side is holding the back up by 1/4 inch already. so after about mid point of the door to the back it doesnt lay out.

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime

well being that i put myself on a budget monthly now.. i ran out of ppg dp 48 on the doors and decided to try tcp kustom shop epoxy dtm primer. its more than a 100 dollars cheaper with shipping.
well it sucks. very low pigment lots of filler doenst cover for shit and runs real easy. and takes forever to dry..
this will be the last time i buy it. but it was good because i was gonna buy my paint from them to do the frame and susp. now im not.

im undecided on what i want to do with the tailgate. i have a tailgate skin but dont know if i wanna use it. i think stock will go with my blazer rear bumper better. what you think? and body work is no where near close to being done. some of it hasnt even been done yet. i just roughed it in with 80 real good then put primer on it so its easier to see where it needs work.

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime

stock first gen tailgates never look good. It would look awesome with the "bump" filled in and keep the stock handle though. It would look like they way they should have been built

either way truck looks great, sucks about the primer though

Re: building a sfbd rolling chassis for the girls 1st gen dime
