Body Drops and Front Bumper

Well, I finally put the front clip on and laid her out. She's lay'n flat as shit and hard all the way around. Problem is, I broke the stupid plastic tab/notch thing on the bumper that slots onto the fender just under the head light. I'm sure I can plastic weld it back on but what are some of the solutions you guys have come up with for the bumper?

LOL. I think I burnt myself out on updating build threads that last time I built her.

I'll try to get some up soon. I'll post them in the Body drop section.

Yea!! that's it!! Used some mesh reinforcement along with it. Had to work really, I mean really fast, since the stuff sets up in seconds after it comes out of the mixer nozzle.

Re: Body Drops and Front Bumper

if its broke replace it, or trim off the very bottom of the lip until it just lays out nicely instead of buckling the sides. Usually only need to trim a small bit.

Re: Body Drops and Front Bumper

about the only thing you can do is trim the bottom of it so it doesn't crush on the ground. The entire bottom lip on my valence is gone due to low driving.

Re: Body Drops and Front Bumper

Anybody ever cut a relief cut in the lip of the bumper sides right in front of the tires? I would think that a relief cut would allow the bumper to compress and kind of fold on its self a little if you will.

Can anyone throw on some pictures of their bumper with the bottom edge cut off? curious how it looks.

Not going to lie, that doesn't sound like a half bad idea.

Re: Body Drops and Front Bumper

I havent broke the plastic clips on my sonoma bumper yet, and i've managed to rip the cover off once or twice backing out of the garage to low.

An envoy cover on the other hand broke as soon as I layed the truck out.
