Re: Body droppin 2 dimes at the same time

Today we got a bit done, I got the floor cut out for the angled fillers, we also got the front frame horns cut and dropped down, we cut about 4 or 5 fillers for the floor. On patricks truck we got the whole front end put back on and lined up, then he took it back off so he can finish some stuff in the engine bay. I had to work today so i couldnt work as long as I would have liked to, but pat and another guy from our club finished puttin my fenders on and hood to do some testing before we weld up the front frame horns completely. Here is the only pic taken today, my hood supports have to be cut out to clear so the hood will shut. The bumper is gonna be so low, because the rest of the truck is spaced up on 2x8s the one under the front bumper is where the ground will be in relation to it.

Yea it looked really good when we put it on your truck haha, thats why u need to get the one with the bar in the opening, it would still be awesome but different then mine or u could always go with a smooth fullsize bumper, If you get one from a 90's model fullsize truck we can chop it and section it to work on ur truck. I didn't take the first pic today though man, All we did was get 3 fillers welded in my floor and I put about 5or 6 good tacks on the rear wall. We also took the front end back off and on tues or wed I am going back ot work on it again so maybe we will finish the floor and get the frame horns welded up.

Re: Body droppin 2 dimes at the same time

We got the fillers welded up on both sides of my truck on the sides of the floor except the part back in the ext. cab which I will get tomorrow. We also got patricks truck lifted off the ground under its own power today and his battey tray welded in and all that stuff hooked up. Hopefully tomorrow I will completly finish the sides of my floor and get the rear wall started, I will probably also weld up the frame horns. Here is a couple of pics of my side fillers

Just under 3 inches, I cut it for 2.75 and the rear wall overlapped just a little bit, and I had to trim a few places on the firewall where it was hitting.

To tell ya the truth man I didn't even measure it, but it isn't really that much at all. Ill measure it next week when I go back out there to work on it. Today I got my floor all finished except the pass. side ext. cab part and I got the frame hornes half plated and then ran out of wire for the welder so I guess I am going to get some next week and get back to it. I'm gonna take the weekend off from working on it and go home because I haven't been in almost a month so maybe after that I will get re-motivated to work on it more then I have been.

I'm usually like that but between class everyday, working, and then working on the truck, I am so busy. But after I go home this weekend and take a few days to relax I will be ready to get back at it on wed. I figure that if I get in 2 good evenings on it this week and saturday we may get some extra help from another one of my friends I should have the firewall and the rear of the cab welded up and the frame horns finished and be ready to do the wiring. We also have to redo some of patricks wiring because it is really close to the manifold and we are just going to move it instead of taking a chance on it hitting.

Thanks, Relocating stuff sucks man. It is the most tedious and annoying thing, mainly because I hate wiring but good luck with it.

Re: Body droppin 2 dimes at the same time

Today I didn't get a single thing done I had planned because we ran out of welding gas, so we cut everything to get the bed down on the ground, I am gonna sheetmetal the entire inside of the bed soon, well here are the pics, the bed is not bolted in or nothing yet its just sittin there.

Re: Body droppin 2 dimes at the same time

I didn't measure the rear wall overlap because I forgot but I did measure the entire drop to get the bed level and it was about 3 and 3/16 or so so the rear wall would be overlapped about 7/16.

Anytime man, Just figured I post since we haven't touched the truck since saturday. Thursday is thanksgiving, I am going to be going home so there probably wont be any progress at all until after the beginning of Dec. School is gettin ready to get really busy with papers, finals and I am taking the LSAT on Dec. 1. However I am taking my dash home with me over break this week to start getting ready for a nice shave job and some paint. But one of my friends wants me to help him while I am home start baggin and building a backhalf for his 69 c10 so I guess we will all see how things go.

Re: Body droppin 2 dimes at the same time

I got my dash all sanded down today and I got some fiberglass laid on to fill the defrost vent hole and every other vent hole on the dash. Hopefully over chistmas break I will get it all finished. But last night I went over to help one of my friends work on his 69 c10. We cut off the rear clip and started the backhalf, hopefully we will be able to start getting the 4-link welded in sometime when I come back in for christmas. Here are some pics of it, the rear is set up to lay out on a 22 with a decent size tire, but I think he is only gonna run a set of 20s on it. Here are a couple of crappy pics, dont mind the rear axle being all crooked we just jacked it up to see how much clearance we had with those 15s it has on it.
