i was only going to do 4 then when i cut the floor out it somehow became 6 1/2 bd drp.. so i shimed the cab up to make it 5 1/4.. my head smacked the ceiling with 6 1/2 and i couldn't get in or out due to the tilt wheel only tilting so far.. basically if i had gone with it my balls nor my head would have been able to breath. it's all good now.. it's a little tricky getting in and out.. but much more comfortable head room. I've got two friends that have std. cabs with 4" bdy drps. so i went with 5 1/4 just for braggin rights. oh yea.. i also plan on makin her drag door next year.. i would now.. but show season is comming up and i just wouldn't have time to cut her up more and put it back together. i will post some pics later.. when i'm almost done. i've got a lot of work to do this weekend.. and since i just got paid i can finally get some more much needed supplies

DragnlikeaPimp, is that a 5" s/f bodydrop? I'm almost done with my 3.5" s/f bodydrop on my 84 s-10 and I had to move the floor up more than whan what you had to in the front where you put your feet. How can you get so low with cutting so little?

BTW, I used 3x3 under my cab, what are you running?

I need money

i used 3x4" box and dropped the fron body mounts 2 in and the back 5 in and cut out what hit on the floor. is the 5 1/4 in drop on a ex cab? how close to door are you?

here's the deal.. it look the same as a 3 or whatever bd drop.. if i was to cut off 2" the lower body panels i would still lay out with and drag about an inch of door. anyway.. it is on a ext. cab.. but i'm running into problems fabing up a rear set up. i'm putting on my 4 link and am having problems finding where to mount the upper bars. the one end will be on the pumpkin and i'm still working on the other side. hopefully this weekend i'll have plenty of time to cut up my core support and weld it back up, finish my rear, and cut up the bed to get that ready for it's bdy drp. it's all about time and money... two things i've been short on.

okay let me see here well the dash wont have to have a thing done to it the door panels wont matter because you are cutting inside of the door sill frame and the seats might have to be changed out because your losing 3" or whatever of head room ,really the only things that have to be shortened are the kicks and the rear wall covering (mine is gone anyway lol) but i dont see any major cutting involved as far as interior panels.

It really depends on how close you cut it to your pinch on the inside of the cab. I think mine was liek an 1" or 1.5" or so..i never had any problems, i also had to squeeze 2 maz bucket seats, and 11" console in between their lol...

my hood fits with a 4" bd. Does the 96 have the aluminum intake or plastic? I believe its like my 95 with aluminum. Look at my pics and cut the intake like that and then drop the motor mounts an inch. Look at got 20s pics because he lowered his motor mounts an inch. They just re-drilled the holes lower in the mount.

DragnlikeaPimp-i didn't order an intake yet but the sportruck specialties should fit fine. i took my old rubber boot with the air sensor on it and attached it to the intake then hose clamped a piece of exhaust tubing to the rubber and then an air filter off of the exhaust tubing. The exhaust tubing is an end pipe with a slight turn down and it sits next to the brake booster. My steering shaft worked fine the way it was-no modification. The joints should have enough to bend. Got 20s looks like hey just re-drilled the holes lower on the black piece. yruh8n-i would try the seat idea, i believe it will work.

cool bandit thanks. i think i get what you saying about the intake. it just goes behind the ps pump and ends there instead rhitng. yruh8n you should look into a semi stock floor bodydrop. i think you could do it the way your saying but im not sure if youll run ito trubles with the outer 2 seat mlounts being directly over the frame rails.

i've gone 5 1/4 from what i can tell.. i still need to weld the 1/4 steel plates to attatch the front support and rear support in the cab. so untill i do that the frame will move just a bit while the frame still moves a lot. so i'll let you know exactly once the 4 plates are in.

if you go any lower then 4'' your going to have to cut the steering hole up more it will bind up if you don and you will wear through the rubber seal and if you did a 5 1/4 why isnt the bottom of the bed cut off or didnt you get around to that yet? yulokndwn@aol.com

I got done bodydropping the cab, and I put the front clip back on. But I think i'm gonna have to cut a hole in the hood. (3.5" BD, I didnt lower the motor mounts or anything)
Does anyone have any pics of a body dropped s10 w/a 2.2 that has a hole in the hood?

few questions

1. how do u put the intake back together if its the plastic one?
2. how do you support the motor when u cut the mounts?
3. where do u cut across the firewall to drop the cab?
4. what do u do to support the cab when u cut the floor out?

I've never done the b/s with the motor mounts or the intake but I'll answer your 4th question. What I'm doing to hold the cab is this. Placing the actual frame on 4 jack stands, one at each corner. Then I'm puttin a hydraulic jack on each corner of the cab itself. When I cut the floor out, I can then lower each hydraulic jack 3.5" then start welding? If you have any other questions ask Josh (drag_it).

There is somethin goofy with mine, After we got everything together, and bolted shit back up, the fenders did not line up, and then we re-measured everything..everything wasd dead on how we wanted it, and we took the Rubber bushings outta the core supports, and everything lined up fine??? im not even sure how the hell that couild of got goofy, but I made My own custom lil bushings in there, and its fine now, just baffles me that somethin coulda gone wrong.. to anser #2, im not sure, i would pull my motor if I was doing that..and #3, You can cut it right along the seem and then however far up, or you can mess with all the steering shit and cut it across the top..whichever seems easier to you!

when you did your frame horns, did you take the measurement on the bottom or the top? You can't measure 3.5 from the top, it has to be from the bottom.

take the measurement from the bottom where the bootom of the existing frame was to the bottom where it is now. That measurement should equal how far you bd the truck.
