yeah itll start around april, i still gotta buy my welder, lookin at miller 180 and a lincoln 180 ... i want to go with a 350 motor, but i wanna beable to drive it to where we are moving too, the truck has a cracked block and a messed up tranny, and my buddy owes his parents some money so id figure id help him out on that lol ... i cant wait ... just like my wife cant wait for that baby to come after the build ... hint the reason the truck is called "The Compromise" ... I build my truck and once both our kids are past 1st grade, then she gets the baby ... and the oldest is 2 and the youngest is 1 ... lol so i got about 5 or 6 years to build it but i want to have it finished before fall of 2011 thats my goal lol

hell yeah sounds like fun. you are in for alot of work and by time you get done you are going to have alot of money invested into it. this life style isnt cheap but make sure you shop around for the best price but dont compromise quality. the worst thing you could do is buy cheap ass products. be sure to send me the link to your thread when you start.

Re: Agrid's Bodydrop

ive done it before , just when kids came along it was time to leave for a while, and now the kids are older and i will be more able to afford it , but the body drop wont happen if i dont have a garage to do it in and a non level driveway, unless someone can tell my fat ass how to bodydrop on an unlevel surface lol ... i usually only shopped at SD

horns droped and tacked into place!

and then just the begining of the box build. the bed floor is raised up and tacked into place but will only be temperary as i am doing a all custom 1x1 square tube frame and sheetmetal.

and some of what i had layin around from work in progrees of the cab tubs and finishing up the inside of the cab. i will post more of these later too.

and the third brake light welds were gruound down and fiberglassed still needs to be sanded and primed.

well i dont think its any harder but then again i just started getting into it too. but mine is going to be all custom anyways so i really dont care how shitty the inside of the box looks right now. you'll see what i mean as i go on with this build, and good luck to you on your future bd.

lol yeah your a funny guy. i wish it was done lol, but then again its almost winter now so i guess there wouldnt be much of a point to rush it now. but anyways i hoping that it will be done or at least drivable by spring. we will see though gotta have cash and time to spare to get it to that point. lately i have had the time but not the cash. but it will get there. just a mater of when. but, im not going to rush it. quality comes with time research and patients. actually i think i might head out to the garage now and throw a few hours at it.

you welcome. and i think that the shaved look of a sheet metal bed just looks so much better. and i also think you should fab up another one of them crossmember c-notch bars and send it my way so i have somthing to conect my 4-link bars to lol. i really need to get around to making one of those though. i am going with a six link that i am building myself. i dont like the bag over axle i dont know why i just dont.

I really cant wait until you start the sheet metal bed, thats another plan of mine ... I am planning to go with bags over axle, all my stuff is going to bed under the bed except the batter and it will be in a battery box that i can take the top off of that is made out of sheet metal, but the battery will also be in a plastic box...keep it up dude

Re: Agrid's Bodydrop

on another note ... the way you Michigan guys like to help each other out ... I wish I lived up there ... My wife is from the Village of Caro (it is literally called that lol) it is about 30 miles outside of Flint ... nice place ... I got to visit, not in a way I wanted to but I did and it was beautiful ... I saw enough snow to last me a lifetime!

Re: Agrid's Bodydrop

ok i was in the garage for about 1 hour and 15 mins and i got my tail light fillers welled in and finished up the rest of the drivers side filler plates between the tubs and what was already done above the tranny hump on the firewall. now all that is left cab wise is to finish the passengers side and then seam seal it, then scuff and paint. as for the box i plan to start on that in a few days. maybe a week i have to go to work and have them order my tubing for me. and then ill start when the tube gets deliverd. so im guessing a week to a week and half tops and then you will see lots of progress on the box.

ill post pics of the progress later tonight or tomorrow morningish.
