20's on stocks or drops?

hey guys, i currently have my truck bagged on 20's with drop spindles and sd control arms. im at the current point of installing some c6 brakes that involve spindle modifications and am wondering that when i do body drop will i want the need for more lift and possibly a lower psi ride height with my stock spindles? if so i might as well switch to stocks again, post personal experience

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

Well i looked into this alot when i put my tubular arms. FIrst, off a tie rod notch has to be pretty damn big to clear a 27 inch tall tire with stock spindles. The second thing to consider is the tires will camber in hella bad. which puts them very close to the engine and to the boosters. BUT its really up to you. either will work. The extra lift will be nice so you dont have to ride max'd out to turn. THere are two guys i can think of running 20s on stock spindles.Pretty sure Redd has em and the blue second gen with the irocs who has a current build going on. check out theirs for anymore ideas or clearance questions

I am somewhat in the same boat, was trying to do some research. Hopefully somebody will chime in. Where did you get your C6 brakes?

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

i got the brakes for a steal on ebay, as for booster i already have a hydro booster and already have the frame notched for the tie rods, i thought an addition of ssc tie rods would overall be a fine combo... just wanted to see if people were happy running bd'd, 20's and on drops

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

I'm body dropped on 20's with stock spindles and sd arms. Didnt get enough lift with control arms and drop spindles. Just a ton of camber laid out....

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

yea i had drops on mine.. 100 psi and barely clearing the fender wasnt good enough for me. Swaped to stocks and clear the fender pretty good at around 70 psi.

Oh I have BYC upper and lower arms, 2600 slams and stock arms. It dosent camber too bad.

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

actually im on re-7s dunno why i put 2600 lol.

With tie rod notches my tie rods sit on the notch and keep me about a 1/4 or so from laying in the front. Im just going to order those stock rods that are pre bent or whatever. Cant remember the company. But I dont need much and rather not redo the damn notches again lol

I can get pics if ya want

Re: 20's on stocks or drops?

i forgot what company had them but they sold factory style tie rod ends but they had a few bends in them. Im just going to run those. I just dont like the BLF no notch tie rods. They are pretty and all but when it comes down to alginments i think most shops will tell me to get lost.

Ill try and get pics of my truck. Im just to lazy to start the truck and let it air up
