Please take a second to review the rules on what is and what is not allowed reguarding sizes of images. Seems there have been a large number of images that members have been making for other members that have been over the 20000 byte limit. Sometimes they are over by a lot, sometimes they are over by a little, but it doesnt matter if its over by 1 byte, its still over.

Please take this into consideration before making or sending another member a signature image.

the sig rules says 20kilobytes. there are 1,024 bytes in 1kb. that means, 20kb = 20,480bytes. i've made sigs up to 20,400 and i guess the user got yelled at, but the sig rules <in your link> says "under 20kb" ..whatever thoguh, your forums so your rules. I just think all this fuss over .3kb is pointless.

actually, you are wrong, the rules state "20k bytes", which is 20,000 bytes. Nowhere does it say "KB" or "kilobytes", so try again.
yes, I agree that 400 bytes is not a big deal, but then if we revised the rules to 20,400 bytes, everyone would try and get away with 20,800 bytes, so on and so on....., so instead of arguing a topic that you think is pointless, how about you just meet the rules as they are stated and stop wasting my time.

so ive made a sig in photoshop...but withought making it so tiny you cant see it it exceeds the limit, its in the 100 x whatever it is, but its still at like 40 kb. any help?

Save the image under the "Save for Web" section.

Make sure its a JPEG and it should give you the option to reduce the quality of it. Drop the quality of it till it falls within the KB limits.
