Wilwood

Hey guys. I have some progress on the front end of the blazer.

Wilwood 1.jpg
This is the entire wilwood assembly mounted on the spindle.

uca1.jpg
The SC&C upper control arm and tall bj.

Spindles 2.jpg
This is showing the un-molested belltech (left) compared to the sliced up spindle (right).

Progress is slow. That's the down side of being young and in school. I'm having fun though. Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers. BBCC

really? techinically if they arent vaned it doesnt really matter anyways, but weird.

but never believe everything you see in a magazine.
its amazing how often mistakes are not caught on those, i mean, marlborosyclone had his rotors the wrong side just a bit ago.
and those WERE vaned rotors lol

Re: Wilwood

Looking good man. What are the lengths of the steel adjusters on the SPC arms? I've heard they are a bit longer then the aluminum ones, but never actually put a tape measure on them.

Thanks man. Belltech really does a horrible job of cleaning off the casting flash from the spindles. I took this oportunity to clean all that off and round off all the sharp edges and so on. The pistons are 1.75``. The rotors are on correct. The vanes are non directional, so no worries there. And it just makes sense to have the slots rotate like this to actualy pull the gases that may or may not be created away from the caliper as opposed to push them into the calliper.

I`m actualy very surprised on how light this assembly is. All the aluminum does add up, but just by grabbing the stock rotor and caliper without a spindle, this wilwood set up mounted on the spindle feels to be barely any heavier. Definitly a huge bonus.

The adjusters are 3-3/4`` long. I was thinking about the aluminum adjusters but to me it really didnt`t seem worth it. I did opt for the screw in bj`s. Mainly because they are totaly bad a.. , but it will be so much easier to service them in the future. And these things are crazy light! Can`t be any more than seven or eight pounds.

The next parts to track down are shocks. I would love a set of QA1 single adjustable units, but tuition and all the parts I`ve rounded up, and my wheels(which are on 16 week backorder......thanks american racing ) I just can`t float the $130 a piece price tag. What are you guys running, and what would you recomend. I would like something re-buildable and re-valvable, like the QA1 round-d-round stuff. But with a little lighter price tag. I`m open to all suggestions.

Thanks for the comments guys. I`ll try and keep you updated on progress.

Cheers, BBCC
