rear disk pads wear fast,why??

Hello, have a 2000 chevy blazer and rear disk brake pads wear out in about every 2-3 months. done new rotors, calipers, tried different kinds of pads, but still wear out fast. they wear out even both sides, inside and out. abs lights is not on. abs does work, have braked hard on loose stones and it activates. front brakes work fine, no pulling when hitting brakes. For some reason back brakes are working too hard. Any ideas on what to check to find problem? help would be appreciated

if your front brakes are not grabbing enough, that will wear out the rears.... but ur truck wouldnt stop so good... check the slide pins on all four corners.... make sure they move freely

New calipers in back, lubed front calipers sliders with permatex brake lube, blazer stops fine, or seems to,maybe we are just pushing pedal harder, but not noticable harder

i would check pressure manually by basically bleeding air out..... even if you dont have air in the system, ull see if there is a pressure difference front to rear.... if you have weak pressure to the fronts, thatll do it... if so, try bleeding the master cyl.

try your rubber brake lines. they say they deteriorate inside and let fluid in but wont let it go back.let me know what happens.

What shape are the front pads and rotors in? Have you bled the brakes like LT1 said? Lines are a posibility. It could be the parking brake is too tight.

Re: rear disk pads wear fast, why??

parking brake on a 4wd has nothing to do with the calipers. The front brakes on any vehicle account for something like 60-70% of the braking force, so if the rears are wearing evenly then the fronts aren't working right. Check brake lines and bleed both front calipers.
