Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

Will a 18x9 inch rim fit in a bagged truck? Or am I going to have to cut the fenderwells? What size rim will fit? Where I don't have to cut the fender wells? Any help will be appriciated

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

with vette wheels you need to run spacers and you can't run those wide as spacers with drop spindle's so you won't have the extra 2" when it comes to bagging. I think u have to cut some shit up to tuck a z06 wheel on an s10. I'm almost certain.

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

For anyone running 17x8 rims:
What size tires are you running on the front.
I'm gunna run 255/50/17 in the back, so it's the same overall height as stock so my speedo and odo are off.
However, i'm looking for a little bit of a staggered look, so i want something a little smaller in the front without looking TOO different.

Please post size and brand / model of tires.

well, i certainly wouldn't recommend the cheap Road Huggers that were on that truck, as they caused a severe loss in traction when taking a very mild curve under the speed limit in the rain and caused the truck to look like this:

As far as brand, i would suggest the populars: Goodyear Eagle's, BF Goodrich has a good street tire out now, when i buy my 19's i will be rolling with the Nitto 555 Xtreme models. i have heard good things and they are a ZR-rated all seaon tire. i like that, even though my 19's will be fair weather rims (have the stockers for the winter). all depends on what you want, availability, and pocketbook depth...

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

+38 offset is kinda large. It's gonna suck the rims inward and make you rub against the control arm or frame when turning. 20's are gonna make it tough to lay frame unless you plan on some fenderwell modifications anyways.

Question Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

I have an '02 Sonoma, 2wd, 2 door, stock ride height and I have a set of 16x8.5 wheels with a 3.5" back spacing. Do you think these wheels will fit on the truck? What size tire would you suggest? Second, I will probably install shocks and springs from a ZQ8 to lower it about 1.5" do you think the above wheel will still fit?

Thanks a lot for any halp,

Phil

You shouldn't have a problem with those wheels with and without the ZQ8 suspension. a 235/55R16 is what comes on the ZQ8/Xtreme 16" wheels from the factory and offer a nice width and still some good sidewall for ride height. a 245/50R16 will give you about the same sidewall but a slightly wider tire. You shouldn't have any rubbing issues running a 245 wide tire with a 3.5" bs. Hope this helps.

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

hause those will not fit dont listen to the other guys 16x8.5 on your 2wd truck requires a 245 50 16 tire to look right. for a 8.5 rim you need 4.75 bs. 3.5 bs will stick out way to much

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

what would you suggest for a 91 s10 that is going to be 3/4 drop. I'm ordering my rims in a few weeks and im looking at these:
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse.com/Store_Detail.cfm?ID=111095&InfoID=2505&ShowLarge=T rue

I know I need a 4.75 backspace n 5-15mm offset. But what tire size do I need? I know nothing about this stuff n it totally confuses the shit out of me... LoL... help a brotha out

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

you will likely rub a bit at full lock and when turning might grind a bit against the inside of the fender flares (no big deal as once they wear away it won't happen anymore) but they should be good to go. That will be an awesome looking setup on your X. It was exactly what i was planning on going with until i found a set of 19's i liked better then the 304's. Wish they could come in 20" tho...good luck.

275 is a REALLY wide tire, especially on a blazer. you are going to lose ALOT of turning radius. i can't tell you whether or not the spacers will help. don't know anything about spacers, never used them.

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

I found your chart very interesting. I have an '86 S-10 Old School all the way, running Corvette Rally wheels, like early '70's style,15" x7" all way around,3 inch drop front spindles and springs,4 inch in back, pinion angle blocks. My question is with the 15x 10 in rear will it tuck with the 295/50/15 on a 5" backspace since that is all I can find in that style wheel?

Thanks in advance,

Darren

Is anyone running 255's with stock ride height? Any rubbing/clearance issues? I can get a good deal on some 255/60/17 take offs but want to make sure they'll work.
