Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

So it looks like to get the widest tire possible on a 2000 S10 with a 4/5 drop and 17's would be:

Front - 17x8 4.5 bs 245 45 17
Back - 17x10 5.25 bs 285 40 17

Am I correct with that? I'm ordering up a 4/5 drop today. I chose the 4/5 over the 5/6 because the amount of tire I would be able to run up front. Looked like the 5 drop in the front would drop me to a 225?

Thanks!

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

I'm looking to get 17's or 18's for a 99 sonoma 4x4 lowered 3/3.
What is the widest I could go without doing anything to the fender wells ?
Also what backspacing will I need and width of the wheel ?

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

I am very new to the whole rim thing. I am looking to put larger rims and lower profile tire on my x. its a 2001 and i have no idea about bs and lug pattern and all that crazy stuff. i do know i want to stay around the same height of tire so there is no speedo calibration. i have stock size tires on it now.

thanks

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

hey guys. i have a 2/3 drop w/ spindles and blocks. i want to go either 16x8 or 17x8 all around. what rubber should i go with? i'd like not to rub and get the least amount of well space.

any rim suggestions...i don't want to pay toooo much. just throw some ideas if you can.

i currently have my 15'' stockers w/ 225/70/15's and i rub only when i crank the wheel as far as it can go (when power steering noise comes on)

Sup Mothatruckers.
I got yet another question. Maybe you'll need more info to give me an answer but here goes. A 20x8" rim with a 3" lip has how much of a backspacing? I'm trying to see if I can fit some spinners on this bad boy...

Thanks again

Is a 4" backspacing on a 20x8 good to clear things in the front?
I'm about to make a big-ass investment and I don't want to screw this up. I usually do...

I have a BLazer X which i beleive is a 3/4 drop already. someone please help.

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

FYI.... 25" does not lay out on in the front on my 1st gen. Its a 87 with inner fender wells, 2" drop spindles, the tires are a 225/40/18, and the rim is an 18x8 with a 4.5 BS. The engine cross member is about 1" off the ground.

P.S. The LCA is resting on the frame, so the cups arent to long from what I can tell.

Re: **New Updated Rim/Tire Fitment For S Trucks**

pretty sure not all of us can afford to bag our trucks or ride on 22's. believe me i'd like to go 18 plus. i'd like to bag it too. I'll throw in an LS1 with my $9.50/hr job too! (after the phone bill and insurance, and other crap) it's an s10 in progress. still have a lot i'd like to do, but i have college to pay for.

so.... with just a 2/3 drop without zq8 suspension will 245/50/17 look alright? will there be a lot of gap?
i'm going with 17'' boyd smoothie II's and probably bfg tire w/ a nice tread pattern. how bout some opinions from reality.

i just would like some advice from the pros. i have only a 2/3 drop. what can i do to make it look dece for tires?

thanks you two for the feedback. i'm not all bling. i want a sport truck.

I have a 91 s10 and I am going to put air ride tech coolride w/upper and lower control arms up front and either a air bar or 4-link setup on the rear. Can I run a 18/20 combo on the truck without taking out the front inner fender wells or hacking the rear of the bed up? If so what sizes and backspacings are useable and also what tire sizes do I need? Any info would help THANK YOU!

Hey Just wondering Im lookin at gettin some 18's for my 03 ext cab.
Im gonna be droppin it 5"6" this week. my question is will
18x8.5 with 4.75inch backspacing work with 225/40/18 tires , or will it be a rubbing nightmare.

anybody run that kind of combo ?
