New Tires
I have an appointment set up for my 97 S10 4x4 to get new tires. On the side of the door, the OEM tire size is P235/75R15, so I am going to stick with that and the 15" OEM wheels.
So, since this is a plow truck in the winter, (I have a Meyer 6.5' electric steel plow), and I currently have Bridgestone Dueler H/T's on it, but they SUCK in the wintertime when I'm plowing. All I get is rear wheel spin (with my PosiTrac rear end and about 400 pounds of weight in the back). I am going to go with Firestone Destination A/T's at $115 a piece installed, balanced and aligned. They should be a pleasant upgrade during plowing season. I do have a couple questions though, I know that some S10s come from the factory with P205/75R15s, is that only for 2WD or do I have some special suspension package that warrants the larger tire? Also, my truck doesn't have a spare tire carrier under the bed... I don't know if it was removed by the previous owner or whatever, but where is the best place to get one? I am going to purchase an OEM 15" wheel on eBay and have one of the old Dueler's mounted so I have a spare... Nick Last edited by NTL1991 : 08-20-2008 at 02:50 AM. |

Re: New Tires
no idea on tire size, but if you wanna do good in snow, get 205s.
or better yet get snow tires in 205s. |
