longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
i am probably going to want to run a 1/4" spacer with my 9.5's with 5.5" bs. cause right now i have 9's with 5" bs. and i dont think it will like taking the 1/2" all to the inside without rubbing more than it already does on inclines, so i had my dad make some 1/4" spacers. i dont know if i just wasnt getting the wheel centered enough on the stud to start a lug nut, but it didnt look like it would be grabbing by much on my irocs.
i didnt get a pic of the wheel on for how much stud is showing. ![]() ![]() i know on my ranger i ran 5/16 spacers on the front and it grabbed by plenty. the way it looked on here would make me very nervous. opinions/experiences? |

What lugs are you running?
I have a set of lugs with a shaft that fits in the wheel. so the lug hold on with more threads. |

Re: longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
look like these
they came with my irocs. my coys are coming with lug nuts. and i know my dads bullitt wheels look thinner where they mount, and the coys look similar. you talking about the lugs that you have to use on weld wheels that have the shank? |

Re: longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
i would man....i ran 1/4s on my truck for about 2 years then one day goin 50 across a bridge here in SC all 5 studs sheared off, my wheel went flying off the bridge into the marsh and i drug control arm for about 100ft till i could get it to the side of the road....when i looked at the other wheel thats when i realized how little thread was threaded into the lug so i took my 1/4" spacers off

Re: longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
if you have a thin wheel (soft 8) im fine running a 1/4" spacer on the stock studs, but i got longer studs to run 3/8"

Re: longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
I run 1/2" spacers, with longer ARP studs. I remember playing around with the 1/4" spacer deciding if I needed longer studs, in the end I said screw it I might as well go 1/2" out to give myself inner clearance if I've gotta do studs anyway. Thats my experience. |

Re: longer studs for 1/4" spacer?
yeah I'm going to get longer studs. I'm not running the spacer right now. but id like to put it on for added clearance between the inside tire and wheel tub.
